Hi,
Sorry for being so quiet recently, I've just had a lot to think about. The novelty of not having to go to work every weekday evening has well and truly worn off by now and the lack of money is starting to get to me. I've started considering a DMP with CCCS but I can't decide if it's the best option.
Their website says that I'm overspending by about £46 a month although their budget plan does include things like clothing that I don't buy every month but they insist on a minimum number and a higher food budget than I spend but they won't let me go lower. So I can probably shave enough off to be able to make token payments of £1 a month as they're suggesting I do but I can't really do much more until I'm working again. I don't know if CCCS can administer token payments themselves or whether I need to write to my creditors to offer them. I'd rather it was the former as then if I get any phone calls, I can refer them back to CCCS (and tell them to only contact me in writing), otherwise I'd have to deal with it myself. I'm just not sure what to do for the best really.

I know it's so annoying, i thought the same
I don't know the answer i'm afraid about the token payments. It might be an idea if you haven't found work in the next week or so to contact CCCS and have a proper look at your options.
Fingers crossed and good luck!!:TDEBT FREE AND PROUD

Thanks.
I suppose I can see their point. Not everyone has the ability to be as frugal as DFWs can be and if you set a budget that's too tight, you're just going to fail and be worse off than you were before. I'm leaving it until Mon at least to think things over properly but I'm thinking token payments might well be the way to go, at least until I'm back on my feet again. But I don't want to make any snap decisions so I'm going to make sure I sleep on it first. Calling CCCS might not be a bad idea though again, I'm going to wait until Mon so I know I'm sure about this. It's a big step and I don't want to take it without thinking first.

I'd agree with that. No harm finding out the pro's and con's of the DMP though. What sort of jobs have you applied for? Have you registered on recruitment sites (where you upload your cv?)DEBT FREE AND PROUD

I'm applying mainly for Shop Assistant jobs atm. I haven't registered on any recruitment sites, no. Tbh, the idea didn't even occur to me.
Are there any that you'd recommend?

Well, i've got a job through 'monster' before.
If i were you, print a few copies of your CV off and go to EVERY recruitment agency in town. Saying you're willing to do anything!! they will find you something for sure.
My DH was made redundant last year and we were  worried sick we wouldn't be able to pay bills on my wage, he did what i've just suggested and got a job within the week :j he's been there ever since and loves it.DEBT FREE AND PROUD

I'll definitely look into Monster and any recruitment agencies then, those sound like great ideas.

Hi again,
I've decided to join the '10 positive steps' challenge. I don't know that I'll list a full 10 things every day, I've listed 7 today, but it seems like a good way to slowly move things forward without this diary turning into a horribly dull to-do list full of excuses for what I haven't done like the last one did. I want to fill this diary with positivity as much as possible. Sometimes I'll be having a rough day and just have to let it out but I want to keep those few and far between. I'm a firm believer that positive people do better in life because people want to be around them and they get opened up to new ideas they wouldn't have thought of on their own. No one wants to be around a negative person so I don't want to be one.
Anyway, I'd better get on with that list of positive steps. I just have to remember, no one ever climbed a mountain in one step. And I bet the view at the top is amazing.
Kayleigh
PS You don't want to know how many different spellings of 'mountain' I tried before I got it right. :rotfl:0 -
I've got an interview! :j It's at a pasty shop in the town centre at 3:30 this afternoon. I really hope I get the job if it's right for me. My finances are getting more than a bit dire now and I still have no idea if I'll even get Jobseekers as I was sacked from my last job. They can delay paying for up to 28 weeks when that happens! And I can't live off fresh air, I need money coming in. So wish me luck everyone and let's hope this job's the one (for now anyway)!
