  • Hi,

Well, I got hold of my old boss earlier. He said to come in at 4 tomorrow and he'll see what he can do (his words). I'm guessing he wouldn't have asked me to come over there if there weren't any jobs going so hopefully, I'll get it back again! :j

  • I start at 6pm on Tues!!! :j:j:j:j:j:j

Busiest day of the week so that should be fun. Then again, it usually drops off around 9 or 10 and tons of drivers get sent home and I then have the next two days off. So if I can get through the first, frantic night, I should be fine after that.

At last, I've got money coming in again soon and I can get on with reducing my debts. From what Mo (my boss) was saying, I think my first payday is Fri 13th July (unlucky for some). I'll only get about a week's wages then as they pay a week in arrears so that won't go very far but I imagine I'll be able to make quite good progress from the start of August when the next lot comes in. Also, I've got a little project in mind to get myself some extra cash but I'm going to keep quiet on the details until it's all set up, which should be part way through next month. as I'm not certain that it'll work just yet. I'll let you know everything once it's all set up though.

Fantastic news on the job well done :D
  • Hi everyone,

Thanks for all the messages about the job. Unfortunately, the Tues start date had to be pushed back to Fri owing to the move taking longer than expected so I haven't started yet but I'll let you know how it goes once I have. My OH is utterly shattered from the move, he's been asleep nearly constantly since last night! I'm still quite worn out myself but I'm slowly pushing through. It just doesn't feel real yet, that I'm actually living in this new place. I still keep expecting to wake up in the old flat again, it's so weird.

I'm not sure what's going to happen with my new project atm. :( It requires a small amount of money to get started and will hopefully, with time and a lot of hard work, turn into the business from the thread title. I was planning on using part of the money from the deposit on the flat I just left towards it but the letting agents are now claiming the flat has loads wrong with it, some of which is true and the rest we can't prove isn't, so atm I don't know how much of that money I'll get back, if any. :( I doubt they'll take it all over the problems with the flat but I don't know if they'll leave me with enough. They're also refusing to release the deposit until we show them proof that the final bill for the gas and electric has been paid, so that'll make things slower than I thought they'd be. I'm just down atm as I really want to get starting on my project but I don't know when I can. :(

It's not all doom and gloom though. When I was spring cleaning my bank account, deleting old DDs and SOs I haven't used in years, I found the account number for my old Lloyds CC, which I know for a fact I was mis-sold PPI on but I couldn't do anything towards reclaiming without the account number. So I've fired them off a letter asking for the T & C on the account and once those come back, I'm going to put a claim in for the fact they sold me a policy that wouldn't have paid out had I needed it to as I was working too few hours to be eligible, which they knew. So that should bring a nice lump sum in, which certainly won't hurt matters right now.

So all in all, life is moving on, just maybe a tiny bit slower than I'd like in some places and way too fast in others. Hopefully, I'll find some sort of balance soon. It's good to be back online though, I've missed this diary while I've been gone. I'm off to bed soon so I guess I'll 'talk' to you all again soon. :)

  • hi-there-smiley.gif Glad to hear the move went well. It's always weird moving to a new house, i nearly fell down the stairs everytime i went to the bathroom as the new bathroom was on the left not the right smiley-sick003.gif You'll get used to it.
Whoop about the PPI though, keep us updated :)

Glad the move went well :) Maybe you hould ask over n the house board about your deposit, Im sure they cant hold it until the bills etc are in just go over and double check :) x

Thanks for the advice. Turns out they are in the wrong asking for the bills to be paid before they return the deposit, especially as the bills are in my name, not theirs. However, it'd be quicker to just show them the proof when the final bills come in and are paid than to take it up with the scheme the deposit's being held in.

Also, I doubt I'll be leaving DFW again any time soon. I've in no uncertain terms been told I'm immature, stupid and shouldn't be allowed to rent a flat, just because I didn't have chance to take a gas reading before I left as my OH packed the key to unlock the meter and forgot where he'd put it () and I didn't have time to unpack every box before we left, and was planning on relying on the estimated reading for the final bill as it's never been out by more than a few pounds before. I forgot what a bunch of w*nkers they are on the other boards.
