Amazon returns are shot to !!!!.

Amazon made a loss during the Christmas quarter and they aren't happy about it.....

    On a point of order.

The Q4 2011 results are old hat by now. (Besides I don't think they actually made a loss.) The Q1 2012 results were announced in April generating headlines such as 'Amazon Q1 2012 Results Blow Past Estimates' and 'Amazon Stock Surges on Strong First Quarter Results', so I think Amazon are well past the point of worrying about one diddly little account.

I'm afraid that Amazon have very sophisticated tracking in place to ensure that banned people can't get back in. I'm not sure quite what they track but I suspect that they use cookies and track your IP address as well as physical address and the like. Anybody trying to set up an account on the same computer is likely to be banned as well.

They are just protecting themselves / their sellers. If every shop had a 10% refund rate there would be no shops left.

Is it not the case that digital media, once opened, are no longer subject to the DSR right-to-return unless faulty?

But how will they tell you have opened it, if the media didn't have a wrapper on?

So you've been banned from Amazon, it is not the end of the world, there are other online retailers out there willing to take your money (and give you cash-back)

It always does have a wrapper.

it does say opened CD etc will not be refunded though so I cant see that being the reason here.

Also people may not be aware but the Royal Mail scan most of Amazon's parcels in as delivered at your local delivery office, even those that are not sent as recorded or special delivery, so you could say you never received it thinking as you never signed for it they wont know but chances are it has been scanned in as delivered and Amazon will see a record of that.
