First post, dont axe off my head please!

Checked my email account yesterday, and got an email from Amazon telling me that they have closed my accounts (three of them). Email is below:

Dear [my name removed]

My name is Liam O'Shea and I represent Executive Customer Relations within Amazon.co.uk. One of our mandates is to address the most acute account and order problems, and in this capacity your account and orders have been brought to my attention.

A careful review of your account and related accountsi ndicates that you have required refunds on a large majority of your orders for a variety of reasons.

In the normal course of business, the occasional problem is inevitable. The rate at which such problems have occurred on your account is extraordinary, however, and cannot continue. Effective immediately, your Amazon account is closed and you are no longer able to shop with Amazon.co.uk.

Please know that any accounts related to this have also been closed. If you were to open a new account, the same will result and it will also be closed. In the event that you attempt to do so, we will not accept the return of any additional orders, nor will we issue further refunds in connection with any future orders. We appreciate your cooperation in refraining from using our web site.

If you require additional assistance, or have any concerns, feel free to contact me directly at

Please do not make contact through the standard CustomerS ervice channels again, as they will no longer be able to assist you.

Thank you for your attention to this email.

Regards,

Liam OShea

==========================

Ive ordered about 200 things, returned 20 in the last two years - I admit they were expensive, but if you pay good money for things, dont you expect them to be of good quality?! (Quite a few replacements however).

Ive sent an email of complaint to the chief exec of Amazon detailing how its unfair, and how its not my fault the returns courier lost items. Funny thing is that I was going to order a tonne of AS level books for the start of college next year (Chem, Phys, Maths) from Amazon, and couldnt log in. Checked my email and wow. Every single time I wrote 'FRAGILE, HANDLE WITH CARE' as per the advice of Amazon CS, the returns courier lost the item. How much of a coincidence(!)

So, warning, dont use Amazon for things that are expensive, as clearly they dont like obiding by the DSR. All things sent back had legitimate faults. I had two printers to send back too, their refusing to pay the courier return, so booked my own. When, 24 hours before they were ready to pick the items up!!

End of my rant, apart from contacting Amazons big guy, what should I do? I had amazon prime aswell!
Really need my account cos I get about a million things from there (Toner, Office/Stationary supplies, cookies :rotfl:, and generally every single bit of electronic kit.

Thanks for reading, if you read it haha.
Aman.

I suppose il have to, but lol Amazons always been the cheapest and prime next day was awesome. Not to mention the CS is awesome too.

@Oliver14, I admit it is but over two years, 200 odd (most likley more) - 20 returns dont seem TOO excessive:
which such problems have occurred on your account is extraordinary
If it was like 75 returns then yes, but 20?! 'Extraordinary'..

    10%

I doubt i've had more than 2% returns across all the sites I order from, usually due to faults.

Amazon are unfortunately well within their rights to close any accounts they want.
The DSR is all well and good, but companies don't like people using it too often as it does cost them money every time, and at 10% returns I suspect you're making a loss for them.

It's one of the reasons I always do my research before buying anything expensive, so I don't have to use the DSR too much (I think I've used it once).

10% is ridiculous, they obviously feel you are a PITA and I would agree with them on a business side of things

I have used Amazon for around 13 years now and haven't sent one thing back in that time and I shop with them regularly. Admittedly most are low value although I have bought LED tv, a Dyson and a carpet washer. Maybe I been lucky or careful what I buy you do seem to have a high return rate. Oh I did complain once about a dvd supplier being very slow to ship and got a refund but that was years ago

So not only returns but replacements as well which makes the percentage even worse
    (Quite a few replacements however).

Shops are allowed to choose who they sell to, or refuse to sell to and as a seller online who is fully compliant with the DSRs I am happy that shops do take a view with people who seem to have a higher number of problems than others.

They have complied with the DSRs as it sounds like you have bene getting refunds even when items were lost on return, and being banned is not against any regs DSRs or otherwise.

As a seller myself on various online sites if I see a buyer with an extraordinary amount of returns or refunds I block them automatically as I don't need the hassle. I am glad Amazon take the same view.

    Definitely something wrong here.

10% is not even a small majority, let alone a large one!

It also seems odd that the section highlighted in red contains typos when you would expect this to be a cut and paste.

On the other hand, they do seem to know that you have done a lot of returns.

Why do you need three accounts? Whilst someone might legitimately have a personal and a couple of business accounts, the fact that you have three coupled with your excessive returns rate just suggests that you're a bit hard work really.

Alternatively, is the mail real? Have you introduced the errors or is it a straight copy and paste?
