Again - you have absolutely no rights to be told in advance if someone wants to tattoo your child's name and birthday on themselves.
If the OP never batted an eyelid over her own name being tattooed - then why would it matter about their child? If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -
Get her boyfriends name and face on your arsecheek as revenge? Maybe get her pets name on your forehead?
Even though tattoo's can be quite a careless thing for some people, this is still odd. I have friends who are absolutely covered, and have no second thoughts about tattooing a friends or familys name on them if they mean something to them. It just sort of blends in anyway. But the face of your child?
Don't be TOO harsh on her, after all, shes gonna have that now for the rest of her days!0 -

NO FACE. Just name and date of birth.

I admit I was a bit shocked when I read the opening post, not sure what I was expecting but if I was in the OP's position I would be thinking 'huh??!'
There is no point in being angry though. Unless of course she beat you to it

Easily...
I lived in italy for a while and saw my best friend abput once a year until the yearly visit was due over and they were in afghanistan. Similarly, dh's best friend lives in austrailia, they email regularly, but see each other less frequently.
Best doesn't mean ones who are geographically closest! I love my mother too, and didn't opt for a new one when we lived in different countries:D0 -

My bestest friend in the world I haven't seen for about 5 years - she will always be my bestest friend, nobody is every going to push her off that pedestal and if she was in need of anything I'd be there like a shot. Some people don't have to live in each other's pockets to still be friends. If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -

I haven't been in the same room as my best friend since October when we went on holiday together. We live on opposite sides of the country so getting together is not as easy as it could be.
Despite this we speak every day so it's not as if we lack contact. The only difference is that instead of us being sat on the same sofa, we're at our desks.
My boyfriend lives with my sister in Oxford for most of the year but pretty soon he'll be back home, nearly 4000 miles away - so it seems nearly all the important people in my life are far away.0
