Good Afternoon
Im hoping someone from Vodafone can assist me with this.
Ive recently tried to apply for a mortgage and had it declined due to a default on my credit file.
I have checked with noddle and creditexpert and can confirm
A quick summary of eventsCancellation of a Vodafone SIM took place in December 2008
They cancelled the contract (I have a letter to prove disconnection date of 24th Dec 2008)
They then advised me of a closing balance, which I paid.I requested the PAC so I could have the number transferred over to a new mobile phone provider.
Little did I know that this keeps the account OPEN and active if ununsed - nowhere did Vodafone mention this
I decided against bringing my number across and just took out a new contract elsewhere.
All went quiet for approximately 7 months when I tried to apply for credit - and was rejected
Upon further investigation, it seems that Vodafone had issued a default against me
I proceeded to contact Vodafone to try and get this removed. I still have the email/letter trail filed away.
I was unsuccessful, as I did not receive a reply from Vodafone themselves
I contacted Creditexpert (again, i have the correspondence) and they contacted Vodafone on my behalf.
After a short while, I had a reply advising me that Vodafone were not going to remove this default - stating that the information they had was correct.
Now this is affecting my life again, I feel I should again chase them to get this removed.
I am still unable to apply for credit, and more recently, a mortgage.
Any help appreciated please

Ideally I would like Lee or another representative to contact me to work through the following.
I have been in dispute with Vodaphone over a laptop computer. I wrote many letters to the address on my bills, but never received a reply. When I made contact by telephone I was told that because the letters had not been sent to the correct department they would have been disposed of and not passed to the correct department! I have tried to make my point clear, but my account was just hit with a default even though we were still in dispute. When I contacted Vodaphone again they said that they would not discuss the matter any further...
Please help as this default is causing me unnecessary hardship and stress.

Hi Vodafone Company Representative.
I really hope you can help me, i have a default on my credit report from vodafone which i belive should not have been put there as i knew nothing about the debt.
The debt was £15 that i apparently owed them which i didnt know about or i would of payed straight away as you can see the rest of my payments were all up to date and i had never missed a payment before then so why would i of not payed.
I really need some help with this as its ruining my life/credit/mortgage applications all because of this default.
I have tried to contact vodafone but after hours on hold to various people i am still no better off.
Any help would be appreciated.0 -
