  • Hi Lee,

I have had a detrimental experience with badly advised cancellation procedures and the PAC code overiding cancellation. This has resulted in a default on my account and has a negative impact on my life and well being. As I lost a breadwinner in the family and have no access to credit to help. I have tried sending you an e-mail via your contact page quoting reference WRT135 - MSE - Fao Lee but have had a response to say that this page is no longer valid. I really hope you can help resolve this.

The Networks are obligated to inform you, at the point of issue of the PAC, that the contract will continue if you fail to use the PAC.
This is usually pointed out in the text, email or letter when the code is given, if they have failed in their obligation you are able to claim back the costs.

It is probable that adding "Fao Lee" to the subject line will have caused the mail to be rejected, try again but just put "WRT135-MSE" in the subject line
It's not just about the money
  • Hi Silk,

Thank you for pointing that out. That was the exact problem so I have re-sent my complaint and hopefully it is looked into quickly. The network did fail to inform me when at the time of issue that the contract would continue.

Also, prior to that I was misadvised on several occasions as to their cancellation policy where initially in store I was advised I could just go back in store to provide a cancellation notice. At the time of cancellation when I went into the store the customer adviser said I needed to contact customer care who could do it over the phone for me. Having finally got round to ringing them they advised I was yet again misadvised and had to go onto myvodafone. I thought this purely unacceptable especially when I clearly outlined my intentions of cancelling due to being a student at the time and just recently lost my father so was going through serious financial difficulties.

Unfortunately, during this inevitable process I had incurred various bill when I spoke to adviser to outline the issue and distress caused by the misadvice which just seem to me as though they wanted to keep me in the contract as long as possible. The adviser advised they he would waive part of bill and set up a repayment plan for the outstanding amount. Unfortunately, they did not set up a repayment plan or waive any charges. It was only recently when I checked Experian for my credit report did I see a default and is affecting me getting any form of credit. I also do not have any recollection of a final notice as the dispute was ongoing at the time and did not receive an outcome through customer services.

  • Hi Lee,

I have had a torrid time with Vodafone and a default on my account. I've lost track of how many times I've been in contact with different employees and keep getting the run around or just a plain no without anyone taking the time to see what I am saying. I was in the exact same situation with a default with Virgin from the same time. I explained the same situation to them and they have agreed as a gesture of goodwill to remove the default but Vodafone are still refusing. From reading these posts it actually looks like your taking the time to help people so i have sent in two emails to you explaining the situation.

I am having the same issue with vodafone, I have a default on my credit file. I ended my contract with Vodafone in October and the vodafone representative stated that my account had been paid up. I moved house shortly after so I have had no correspondence from Vodafone and then I recieved a message from the debt agency stating I had an outstanding payment of £18 to Vodafone. I spoke to 6 people from Vodafone all passing me through to other departments. I then went to the Vodafone store where the manager agreed that I should not have recieved a default on my account as I had been misinformed, yet he still could not take the default off. Now I have been asked to send an email which the address does not work. The customer service has been terrible and I am very anxious about this as going to be applying for a mortgage therefore I need the default removing. Please can someone from Vodafone who knows how to help me with this matter contact me
    Kind regards
    Kirsty
