I'm sure there'e been a thread on this before, Pink-Winged normally comes up with the goodies.
I would chop some up and freeze in ice trays (a great sweet fix), make a load banana bread (again enough to freeze) and smoothies. Yum!Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Banana bread, slice then freeze so you can defrost as much/little as needed. Can then be cake/pud with custard/snack etc.
Mrs Beeton has good idiot proof recipe. Other recipes on line add dried fruit/chocolate/alcohol (not all at the same time!).
Maybe do several versions ?Lurking in a galaxy far far away...0 -

I would make banana bread.
BUT
Instead of the three or so bananas it tells you to put in, double it. Put the bananas in microwave*** for a few 20-30 sec bursts till all their juice comes out. Place the juice in a pan and reduce down to a thick syrup. Mash the remaining solids and add both into your cake batter as normal. It really pumps up the banana flavour but reduces the 'leaden'-feeling you can sometimes get with banana bread!
Oh, and you could also thinly slice an extra banana and put a layer on each side before you bake it. Then give it a good sprinkling with sugar and you'll have some delish caramelised bananas on top of your bread.
*** placing the bananas in the freezer and then defrosting will give you the exact same effect. You still need to reduce the juice down as it is that, that gives the heaviness to the bread.0 -
If you are going to freeze any, peel them first.
2 frozen bananas, thaw for about 10 mins, then whizz up with a spoonful of honey for gorgeous, creamy, virtually fat-free ice cream!Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...:D:D

I would blend and make banana ice cubes. I'd also either cook them down or blitz them add some yoghurt or cream and put in a piping bag and pipe little dots, freeze for a healthy frozen snack
Otherwise banana bread, banana ice cream, banana syrup?!Credit Card: £796 Left/£900 October 2011 :eek:Store Card: £100 October 2011

how about banana flapjacks
- 40g/1 1/2oz butter
- 60g/2 1/2oz brown sugar
- 1tbsp golden syrup
- 225g/8oz porridge oats
- 50g/2oz raisins
- 2 small bananas
Mash bananas and mix into butter mix with raisins and oats and spread into a greased baking tray approx 15cmx20cm/6"x8" (if you've saved the tray from bought flapjacks these are ideal).
Flatten with the back of a spoon, bake at 200C/Gas 6 for 15-20 mins until slightly brown.Cut into fingers and leave to cool. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

slice, freeze and use for single ingredient banana ice cream. Use in frozen in smoothies and milkshakes too.People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.
