anyone have problems freezing them? I took them out of their skins and tightly wrapped in clingfilm. They were foul when they came out, so liquid, stank and mushyBest wins in 2013 £200 and Mini iPad. 2014 no wins. 2015 2 nights 5* hotel with £300 vouchers plus £1150 Harrods gift card

Ok so I have 4 overripe bananas that need used and I will be strangled by DH if I make yet another banana loaf! Apart from said loaf and smoothies, what else could I make that's tasty that can perhaps be frozen? Am happy to freeze biscuits etc.

Hi Mazz,
These existing threads should give you lots of ideas:
banana glut
Bananas going a bit black?
Or if you don't want to use them now you could freeze them. There is lots of advice in this thread:
Freezing bananas.
I'll add your thread to the first link later to keep the suggestions together.

You could make some banana muffins or sometimes we put peeled bannanas in the oven with chocolate buttons in them and wrapped up in foil, bake for about 15 minutes or until the chocolate is melted and then serve with vanilla ice cream or cream.Football Widow :footie:

fed up off Banana Bread - Gosh! I usually make it on Sunday for breakfasts for the enxt week...
Maybe then freeze until he is no longer fed up of the banana bread or; as someone else has suggested (sorry can't read whilst typing) bake and serve hot for dessert.0 -
Genius!
And yes, I have made banana loaf a lot and there are only two of us. I should really just stop buying as many bananas as I do, but buying a "bunch" of two or three just feels daft...0 -
you could wrap them (peeled) in bacon and eat them with maple syrup, if you like the salt/sweet combination.
The freeze brilliantly, but I'd be really tempted to do a batch of muffins and freeze them....ready to get out, defrost and dust with a little icing sugar and / or cinnamon and to have with coffee for a chic and easy brunch or breakfast.0 -
I was in Boots today and they were selling off their single bananas (for the Meal Deals) at 2p each so I bought ten. I could hardly say no, could I? They were't even going speckly. Will make muffins tomorrow, unless DD and Hubby eat them first.Val.0
