Not literally,
I love bananas, but would like to do more with them, all I seem to see recipies for on the whole are muffins, loaves and open pies.
What else can I do with this fabulous fruit?
I'm thinking of 'inventing' banana turnovers
Any ideas?0 -
Dry fry them with dessicated coconut for a topping for curries and/or cereals, until the coconut browns
Banana splits
My mum used to do something with them in the oven, whole, in skins - cant recall what, as I am not a fan of them in any guiseYou never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow0 -
In my family (when I was a child) we used to eat them fried as part of a cooked breakfast! Not especially healthy, perhaps, though healthier than a lot of the rest of it, and it depends how you fry it. They taste surprisingly different cooked.
I really love bananas too, and could very happily make five of them my five-a-day (although I don't, obviously, before anyone lectures me).Life is mainly froth and bubble

Baked bananas are great! Just put them in their skins in the oven until they're black all over outside (200 C for 20 mins is about right). Then split them and eat them with yoghurt or cream, or stick bits of chocolate in while they're still hot and eat them as at melts.

Recently someone here reminded me of an old favourite, bacon wrapped bananas. Mmmmm. We had them for breakfast the next day.0
