Hi tight jock,
There's an older thread with lots of ideas that should help so I've merged your thread with it as it helps to keep all the suggestions together.

A friend came to visit yesterday and bought around 50 bananas which she picked up off the market at closing yesterday for £1.
Some are ok to eat but many are starting to ripen.
I make banana loaf - hence why she picked them up and myself and DD2 love banana smoothies, but what else can I do with the bananas before they go off?
I've tried freezing them before for banana lollies but we didn't like them, so any suggestions? It would be a shame to throw them away.
Pipkin xxxx
PS She also picked up 5 punnets of seedless grapes for £1, so my smoothie was grape and banana - scrummy! There is something delicious about writing the first words of a story. You never quite know where they'll take you - Beatrix Potter0 -

I think I'm going to try these two later, they both sound delicious.

Will miss out the raisins to see if DD1 will try them - she dosn't like fruit, so it would be good if I can get her to try these.

That one will stop my waistline groaning under the pressure of too much cake:D
I've also peeled and frozen some bananas so will see how we go, although they didn't work well as lollies, I can use them in cake recipes hopefully.

I've got to try this on my kids. It's from a book called The Cool Camping Cookbook (which I've bought for my sil's b'day)
You cut a nana in half across the middle. You take a Cadbury's Flake and break that in half. You push half a Flake down each banana half - this bit is messy. Place two halves together on a piece of foil and wrap up so the banana is whole again. Bake on a fire for 5 minsI should think 5 mins in a hot oven would work too.
To eat -hold banana half in one hand and scoop out with a teaspoon.
The rest of the book looks fab too, I might have to keep it and buy another copy for sil. It is writted by Tom Tuke-Hastings, Nadia Shereen, Shellani Gupta and Jonathan Knight.0 -

I know a lot of people talk about banana bread with brown bananas but id there anything else I can do with them? (I have four to use at the mo)
I don't have much baking stuff at home (just plain flour and a bread tin!) as we're both on the SW diet but any receipes gratefully recieved!
Thanks0 -
I think there is an earlier thread on this - my own solution is banana ice-cream. Just mash the bananas and mix them with whipped cream and sugar to taste. Pour in ice cream maker, or else place in freezer and stir once or twice before fully frozen."Remember that many of the things you have now you could once only dream of" - Epicurus0
