I always add a mashed banana to porridge and honey for breakfast
I don't actually like eating raw banana, but i like the flavour, so this way i'm still getting one of my 5 a day! Makes the porrdige a bit more interesting too
I'm also v.tempted by the frozen banana/icecream replacement!i can never think of anything witty to write :rolleyes:0 -

Hi
If you look up in the blue bar in the indexed collection you will find a recipe for banana loaf - it is lovely and the recipe is easy to follow

hi there, just popped a loaf in the oven - can it be frozen, I have enough bananas to make another one and am tempted to do one and put in the freezer.
thanks again for this.

yes they can be frozen, i made one last week that lasted me a few days, i sliced it up when cool then bagged it up in 2 slices a piece in the freezer, just enough for me to take out & have a snack. I made it from 2 very ripe bananas, but i did find it very sweet! Next time i'll probably reduce the sugar.0 -

thanks folks for all your responses, this board has been great, I am so reluctant to throw anything away these days and waste it. I have a turkey curry on the stove at the mo bubbling away leftovers from yesterdays easter roast!! going to make a few meals from that and tonites tea is a veggie cheese bake leftovers from all the veggies yesterday!!!
I used to throw so much away............
have a good afternoon

You can do these under the grill but are fantastic on the barbeque as well, pull back the skin in one strip end to end, slice the banana in half lengthways, pop in a couple of blocks of galaxy chocolate or galaxy caramel into the split, put the peel back in place, wrap in foil and pop under the grill, always the best recieved part of a BBQ!
Hope that helps!
