I'm sure the buyer will have a nice new tv or something with the money which he wont spend fixing the air con.
It's the UK !!!!!!, what the hell do you need air con for lol0 -
To be fair to the OP if he/she feels bullied into paying some of the cost to put an end to the stress then so be it.
I just hope that this will put an end to it.0 -

makes me wounder why i bother posting half the time when people just wanna waist good money to make a problem such as this dissapear.
more fool you if they decide they want more cash than your good will gesture. what will you tell them then NO and then they add more pressure on you with threats of court easy life youlll pay them the amount they want, or just tell em tough it failed after purchase your not a trader and fullfilled your obligation to accurately describe the car go away.0 -
Some of the posters here who have been critical of the OP's decision to offer a goodwill payment should remember that there are no rules in MSE which says they have to follow advice from other members. The situation has clearly upset the OP and to have disparaging remarks made because they haven't followed advice given is absurd."You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"

Quite right. Sometimes it can be worth it just for the ease. It doesn't mean it is any better to take but if it's going to stop the OP getting ill over it then that's that.
Hope it works out OP. Hope they collect in person though, worth getting them to sign something saying 'full and final settlement'. I'm sure others can advise on wording.
5t.What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0 -
Don't you see that the remarks were made out of frustration that the OP is being taken for a ride for something that they are not responsible for?0
-
Without knowing anything about the OPs background, young family, general health etc then we can't judge.
No it seems the OP doesn't owe anything but if it's £50 for some decent kip and they've decided that is what is more important to them, then it isn't right to judge.
