Why do you want it in statement form?

After all you're paying, its not as he your fighting this one.

Partially paying. I'm trying to get a statement in case it goes to court.

I have no idea, I don't regularly look at the back of my car with the lights on.

You should do especially if you're selling it. I wonder what else the buyer is going to come back with after the long weekend.

You won't go that far. You'll roll over and pay the full amount to make it in away.

Like I said, too much testosterone in this thread. Why not lay off the op, they have proper legal advice, not like all the keyboard warriors on here. No court case is 100% despite you all appearing to know the outcome already.

They accepted my offer today via email, and I'm arranging payment via special delivery so I get a signature.

Let's hope you are now at peace of mind.

However if it was me I'd only send them the money upon proof that the repair had been carried out.

The OP can expect an invoice next week for another random fault, i'm going with CD player next.

The buyer's just had £200 off his purchase by sending a few e-mails :rotfl:

And costs you another £5. Make them come and collect it after the repair has been done.

I've been told that accepting a without prejudice offer is legally binding and I am not accepting any liability for the car at all, so if something did happen, they would now no longer have any legal route.

Should be. As long as it is a "full and final" settlement and they cash it then they shouldn't be able to come back at all.

    5t.
