Sold a car, air con stopped working, buyer complaints

    AA inspection wouldn't have caught this fault. It's not something you can forsee or predict any more than you can forsee a bulb or relay failure.

    Yes, but in some ways that's the point. A prior inspection would have shown that this problem was not the OP's fault.
  • On that point and out of interest, OP was the bulb that was replaced by Honda working at the time of sale (if you know?).

    I'm having difficulty getting a written statement to that effect. I've tried a Honda Dealership and Honda UK, they all say that it's not a fault you can detect, it just goes suddenly, however they won't write it down in a statement for me.

    On that point and out of interest, OP was the bulb that was replaced by Honda working at the time of sale (if you know?).

    I have no idea, I don't regularly look at the back of my car with the lights on.

    Exactly my point. If the repair had been bodged up to sell then I would hope that this would be evident in the inspection.

    What about the air con specialist?

    Has the buyer accepted your offer yet?

    I've tried 2 different air con specialists and they say they won't get involved as it's a private sale.

    Plus he hasn't got back to me since I offered.

    Get back to him again giving him 48 hours to respond or you will consider the matter dropped.

    Why do you want it in statement form?

    After all you're paying, its not as he your fighting this one.
