Not sure about eats - they have now got a Prezzo and we had a really delicious Sunday lunch at The Thatched Cottage earlier this year but not sure whether you'd want this for NYE. To be honest, we don't often go down there to eat.

A friend of mine was having her Xmas do on the pier last night - think there's a posh restaurant on there now.

The Thatched Cottage sounds good, its only for lunch and a roast would be fine. The pier has a masked ball party in the evening but thats not my style. I may look at the restaurant but it may be shut to set up the night thing. Thanks for all the tips :T

Small spends today, purchased some of these (thanks to a grabbit post) and also found these instore, both for shoeboxes.

I am on holiday this week but have taken on work so will get paid for bith my holiday and the work I do. It will be payed on the 27th so just intime for the 31st :j I am hoping that it will net me approx £80 so thats an extra debt repayment. Also I have finally got my certificates back from my NVQ so now have a 10p wage rise :D

Have a great week all

Oh Pap brilliant double bubble of holiday and work-well done you. Also note that you are Queen of Qualifications although 10p is jolly nearly an insult. How's the maths going?

Well as I have made very little debt repayments this month this will at least help that. I have also forgotten its car tax at the end of Feb, so I may not be debt free until the first Friday of March :o Yeah 10p an hour is pants, but at least its something :T It also widen's my options. Maths is fabby! A hard few weeks just gone and have an exam tomorrow  That being said I am not stressing about it. I will revise tomorrow 9 - 3 and then tackle it.

One thing I did do today was sort my shoe box stuff. As it stands I have only a few things to buy, plus sweets and thats 7 shoe boxes done for 2014 :D I may increase that to 8 but I will see how things go

  • Thanks for your vibes all, it was hard! Mostly because 4 questions were something I thought I understood but alas I didn't. I can only wait now for the results (7th) but I think I may have just droped into band D :o So I am on the revision again. We also now have access to a subscription only website through college so I guess I will be using that too.

Manged to fit all 7 shoeboxes (plus the 8th filled with overs) into my cupboard so thats all great. I have made a list of what I need for them so will only be purchasing that it the coming year. Just need to save £21 to send them in November :T

At the moment I am trying to set some goals for 2014. I have a few but want to get a min of five. I am not counting 'get debt free' because thats the priority and at the top of my list. I am still hoping for the end of Feb. I am certainly not going to be in debt after March!

I am at a cross roads at the momment about signing up for the access course. I have been doing some digging and only 1/3 of those who did the course from my choosen college went onto uni. I am unsure if I want to drop to p/t wage and barely scrape by and then not get a place :o That being said I don't want to stay in this job much longer, especially at this wage. I am just going to focus on maths at present and see what happens.

    Speak soon :D

Plenty of time to decide Pap and you have experience that lots of candidates won't have. Time to look at other routes perhaps? Fingers crossed for the maths.

Just dropping in to say hi:wave: although as you know I honour you in my signature ;)

I think that the Access course would be great. Everyone I know who has done one has never regretted it..hard financially yes, but getting the quallies and then better jobs etc has always been worth it. It also shows a new employer your determination and ability to overcome adversity.

Have a great Xmas and hope you find time to relax

  • Thanks all for your comments. I am really undecided, but I have a few months to decide. The thing really putting me off is the fact I can't stay where I am much longer and I don't want to jump ship and then expect my new employers to drop me to weekends/part-time only come September. I am also questioning if I really want to go to study nursing. People have said stuff which has questioned why I want to do it and other jobs I maybe better at. So my head is swimming :o

Anyways sorry I have been MIA this weekend has been crazy. Income was fine although a tad less than I was expecting. I spent £15 for our 'pizza christmas' and I also spent £15 at the market (toothbrushes & soap for shoe boxes - fabric softner, air freshner, toilet rolls and crisps for home - socks for Mum extra xmas gift - bin for my room) Then after petrol/rent/bills etc I have £95 for my CC :T But that won't be paid until Friday with another bulk payment, because Mum is worried about electric/gas so I may have to give her next Fridays rent payment early.

I exchanged gifts with one sibling yesterday and they were all a hit! I recieved some lovely practical presents in return which I am very grateful for :)

Those that won't be online over the festive period, have a great day wednesday, whatever you celebrate :T
