I'm glad you've had a talk with him -and I hope he takes it fully onboard.

I admit I couldn't imagine allowing a man shouting at me a month into a relationship-especially over me cooking him a meal. I'd stop cooking at that point and show him the door-Actually I'd do the same to a friend. I do think you need to think about if he is treating you differently as a girlfriend than as a friend-and as he was a friend first presumably you know his relationship history and if this is how he's treated girlfriends in the past.

Glad you felt you were able to ask about this, Hiddenidentity, rather than just feel that perhaps it's normal. Now you know it most definitely isn't, you have the strength to nip it in the bud or send him packing - well done!

I know I've mentioned this before and don't know whether you have done this after your experience with your previous partner but I've found out that you can do the Freedom Programme online and if you're a single parent, you get the book and workbook for free instead of the normal £20. As you've been in such an abusive relationship, sometimes it's hard to recognise what a healthy equal partnership is and this course really helps with your ability to change things for the better. Nothing but good could come from you having a peek. http://www.onespace.org.uk/elearning/courses/freedom-programme

That goes for anyone else who has these niggles that they're slowly being manipulated into situations they feel suss about.
