Hi DocN and Silk, thanks for that. Downloaded tweaker and set-up within a minute. How good's that! Again, many thanks :T0

If it ever goes downhill or the terms become less favourable, you can always port out to another company.
There was something earlier on the forums about the owner having ran previous companies that have since been dissolved. I am reticent to move my main number over to them -- if the company should go into administration, I wouldn't take it for granted that I could get the number ported out. That could result in having to get a new number with all the hassles that would entail.0 -
I don't see that as a significant risk.
If a company goes into administration, it usually gets wound up in an orderly way.
The administrators will still have all the information needed to let people port out. Rather than throwing it in the bin, it could charge everyone a fiver to port out. This will bring in a chunk of much needed money to pay debts.
In any case, the residual risk isn't zero for big phone companies. They have lots of debt and are in a fiercely competitive market.0 -
If you're an ovivo user it would seem that they, ovivo, have decided to resubscribe everyone to email marketing without your consent.0

What makes you think an Ovivo Advisor posts here. They would need MSE special permission to do so and clearly state who they were.
Have you told Ovivo your concerns.
It was an informational post, so whether or not ovivo post here is irrelevant.
Ovivo are aware of the situation, as is the ICO.0 -
It happens! No doubt Ovivo misread the DPA as well.0

IMO a small price to pay for a (possibly) free service.
Have they done this under
"9.2 No opt-out to receiving targeted marketing messages is available"?

If they have they're not saying. However, T&Cs don't override UK Law. They still have the opt-out on the emails, but whats the point (apart from legally having to have it) if its ignored.
I added ovivo to my blocked email list.
Still a good service though and saving me money.0
