Made some space. Have a look in the Device Manager to see what you need/what Drivers are needed.

    Sound

    Display Driver

    Ethernet

Let me know if something else is missing.

    thanks

its connected to the internet, so do i need the ethernet one?

device manager has a question mark next to:

    multimedia audio controller: PCI\VEN_1039&DEV_7012&SUBSYS_200B1631&REV_A0\3&61AAA01&0&17

    video controller (vga compatable): PCI\VEN_1039&DEV_6325&SUBSYS_10041631&REV_00\4&3525EC23&0&0008

are the ones above the correct ones for what i need?

downloaded all three files, they were .zip files

    got 7 zip from filehippo

sound one does not have a set up file, just a file to remove sigmatel.zip

the display and ethernet files seemed to run set up ok, but i cant change resolution over 800 by 600

    and it still seems blocky

went to device manager and the above two things still have question marks next to them.....

Did you follow the instructions that came with each link as to how to install the Drivers?

You un-zip the Sound Driver and then choose the Update Driver option by right-clicking on the line within the Device Manager corresponding to the Audio hardware and choosing 'Update Driver'.
You can then point the Wizard towards the newly un-zipped folder. The Driver will install that way.

As to the video, you can use the same Driver that you used earlier that worked. Perhaps from the Gigabyte website?

It's possible the system merely needs to be restarted, assuming you haven't done so already.

I miss XP for its ability to be tweaked, win7 seriously lacks the old ability to tinker with it. ;)

Your nearly their OP - Fingers crossed ;)

but internet explorer keeps asking me to install adobe flash 11.2 even though i selected yes?

not getting a request for administrator password on start up, although im sure i did set up an account on install?

when windows loads it keeps asking me "windows genuine adavantage" WGA notification....how do i get rid of this?
