That or we're still missing a few drivers. Can you try the one labelled SiS 7012?
Sorry how do i get that SIS 7012 up?
the previous one i just selected xp 64 bit (fromt he link you gave) and then it downloaded a file called "uni vga" in my documents and then i ran the setup.exe file
cant see anything named SIS 7012?0 -
Press [WinKey]+[Pause/Break]. Are you absolutely sure you have a 64-bit edition of Windows XP?0

I'm not absolutely sure i have a 64 bit edition of windows
i did as you asked and it just says "microsoft windows xp, professional version 2002, service pack 3"
How do i find out if it is 64 bit or 32 bit?0 -
It's almost certainly 32bit.0

IMO you need to do what I told you earlier and that is to run windows update. Think is is called Microsoft update in XP.
It is in control panel.
I only last week did a fresh install on a XP machine of Windows XP Professional SP3 and a lot of the drivers esp for the Graphics/Intel appeared in the Microsoft updates. Just run it manually from control panel.
I had the same thing in regards to icons too big/not smooth looking etc before installing the updates.
There is a lot of performance updates in there as well which might be what is affecting your playback.
You will also be running a very old version of I.E and missing alot of security updates, In the region of 200-300 updates I reckon.0 -

Unfortunately some of the drivers suggested can be pretty generic (no 3D!) and even completely wrong on occasion.0 -

Thanks not so bothered about older version of IE as i use firefox anyway
There is no "windows update" in comtrol panel
i did a search for it, the folder is empty.
This is not strictly a "legit" copy of windows, but i have used this cd to install xp on another (much newer machine) and it runs perfectly...0 -

If memory serves it can be found in Start>Help and Support.
Start > All Programs > Windows Update.
Why not use the Packard Bell Recovery Disc? There is also usually a folder containing the Drivers, but I guess that you have already overwritten it.0
