Hello all !!!
Sorry I've not been around but I've been so busy with one thing and another.............I know, your thinking, ha she doesn't need us anymore now she's quit. Well nothing could be further from the truth. I really couldn't have done this without you guys.
Hi Ravendri, sexyshark (great name), rising from the ashes and all the other newbies I have missed by not coming on lately. The only reason I have succeeded so far is with the support of Sue, JD, Determined and the others who were and still are a rock for me so lean on us all as I can assure you one of us (if not all) have been through what you may be experiencing now.
The end results are so much better than any fag could be.
I love being a non-smoker!!
I went into town with my son yesterday and there was one of those pop-up stalls selling e-cigs. He started with 'excuse me madam' to which I replied 'thanks but I don't smoke'. Woohoo~~~~ Me and my son both smiled at each other and if it wasn't so busy I would have done one of those side jump/kick things.
Anyway, that's me for this morning. Stay strong everyone and give the old devil the heave-ho once and for all.

Apologies, RFTA, I forgot your health problems. Still, anything of the nature of the things I suggested, constant hand to mouth nibbling, that you're able to eat then think some up and use them when you need to.
One a lot of folk found good was Ice Poles/Ice Pops (bought unfrozen at the supermarket) are great, refreshing too. Just pop the box in the freezer when you get home. As determined says, you'll soon be feeling totally different, hating the smell of smoke and not feeling sorry for those who - unlike you - still smoke!
Keep strong and focused, RFTA...and get healthy soon!

It's soooo good to see you, Fergie! Congratulations on going over the 2 month mark!!!!!! :T:T:T By golly you've done so very well.
I loved the bit about what you said to the pop-up stall, doesn't it make you feel so terribly proud, plus, if it were necessary, it also enforces the fact that you no longer do that!
Brilliant work, Fergie and I'll bet your kids are soooo proud of you!

Well determined, where Fergie is - you're not far behind...in the amount of time that is. :T:T You're really doing yourself so very, very proud. Keep it up, D, along with the pride, it's so well deserved!!

Terrific news, RFTA!!!!!! :T :j :TYou really are doing marvellously you know, be soooo proud of your achievement so far. You know yourself that you've come a long way, any former smoker knows how true that is.
Whenever you get such moments, have some sips of water and switch your thinking to beautiful thoughts of dreams of the future or lovely memories from the past. Have a few in store to bring swiftly to mind at such times.
Please keep in mind that those feelings WILL get fewer as you go along, they'll also last a lot less time until one day you realise it went without you even thinking of it.
Have you treated yourself to a little something? If not, you really should do - this is momentous and you really do deserve little treats every so often...something to think about at such times when you're pushing 'other thoughts' aside!
I had to have breast screening today (normal 3 yearly appt) and just outside was a young girl 17 - 18.....a pitiful sight given all that she must know about the dangers of the blessed things.Hopefully, before she's too much older she'll reach for help.
YOU are doing brilliantly and folk like you make me feel so proud of all you're doing!

Thanks Sue for your words of encouragement - brilliant as always:T
I so hate seeing youngsters smoking and often wish that I could stop and say "don't do it" "it's not worth it" etc etc but I know I wouldn't have listened at their age so .......
Wonder when I'll start feeling like a non-smoker?
Treats - nothing yet. Have been keeping track of the amount saved in my sig but trying to pay off my OD so haven't been physically taking the money out & putting it somewhere to spend.
Might have to treat myself to something soon tho!Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Well. you're certainly already sounding like a non-smoker, RFTA, a lot to be said for that.
No, I suppose years ago I wouldn't have listened to anyone trying to stop or advise me either - but what I would say is that adults openly encouraged me to "go on - have one, it won't hurt you!"
VERY well with the amount of money saved on your siggy, even that's motivation enough. Keep building on the positives!
