I couldnt let the day pass now could I without popping on here , Thank you for your kind words sue :A

thought I would add my silkquit stats

    NOT smoked 3661 :eek::eek::eek::eek: Not Spent £1,364:eek::eek::eek::eek:

Great to see you after a YEAR free, JD and would you look at those stats!!!!! It's amazing how we think more about those we haven't smoked than whatever we did about the ones we did! A case of sweeping them under the carpet so as to ignore them I spose.

    Sue x

All the very best with the unpacking, determined, you're welcome, though there's something lovely about arranging everything again...the making of another new home I'm sure.

    Sue x

You be sure, cheesytwist, about just how wonderfully you're doing. Each day is a huge achievement and each week, month and so forth is superb to count off - keep on counting! :D

    Sue x

All best wishes to everyone at whatever stage you're at. For those who haven't yet stopped, think hard about it - and the benefits you're reaping - they are nil!. Try just one day without any, but with sips of water, fruit, nuts and plenty of exercise to replace them...then try a 2nd day and so forth. One day at a time is all it takes!

One week done, but have a confession to make...I puffed on an old dog end out of my car this morning. Disgusting. I am very cross with myself.

  • I have just found this thread! Perfect timing! Hope I can join?

I am on my first day of not smoking! I am using an electronic cigarette today and hope to not have to use an aid by the end of this week!!

I have "only" been smoking for 3 years but in the last year have smoked 15 a day to help with the serious stress in my life currently!

Anyway I hope to use this thread to keep me on the straight and narrow! x

Brilliant news about the week, 166million!!! :T

Re the puff of the butt, I you don't think you need me to say a word about that! Just carry on and put it down to stupidity...but don't ever risk going back again, as you say it's disgusting and for some folk (maybe you on a different day!) it takes them straight back to 20 a day puffing! A week though is terrific!

Hi whitelotus. Ordinarily I'd welcome you onto the thread willingly, however for as long as you're using an E-cig I'm afraid I can't!

This thread is only for those who are not using hand-held devices as it states on the first page.

As soon as you finish with the E-cig you'll be most welcome here for all the help and support you need. I do hope you understand.

I will clean out my car properly this weekend.

I do feel differently this time - rather than feeling I am giving something up, I kind of feel I'm reclaiming my life, the life I never had, from the age of about 12/13, the life full of energy, activity and motivation. The life where I could have achieved so much but chose the easy way out every time, because it was easier to shut myself away with my sadness my fear, and my cigarettes.

I'm going to live that life now.

Hi 166million and all our other new friends :T
That is a great attitude and exactly how I felt. There was never any question about it...............I don't want to smoke any more!! My body did - and Old Nic tried very hard to get me back but just keep remembering your pledge above and the feeling will pass.

Wow JD that is a fantastic achievment and I can't wait to be there with you.

Hi Determined and Sue. Still going strong here and sorry I can't come on as much lately as still so busy at work but think about you all lots.

Take care and speak soon xxxx:beer:

A truly inspirational post, 166million!! It sounds as though you wrote it all straight from the heart. You even sound so different this time around, you also want to let us (and the world) know that you are determined to crack this evil habit that has kept you under it's spell.

You were well and truly ready this time round so keep on going as you are and you WILL get there and enjoy the journey you've undertaken - you won't find a better one!

    Sue x

Hiya Fergie. Good Heavens...how did all THAT time fly by?!!! :T:T:T We're just so happy to see you when you get a few moments, but don't ever worry....just never become a stranger! ;)

You're doing excellently and I'm absolutely positive that you are ALL so terribly proud of all you've achieved. I am too! :)

    Sue x

Please whitelotus, read through the PM that I've sent you, you'll find many useful tips there. One thing I would stress is that we're all behind you!

    Sue x

Please folks, read these incentive words of 166million's they really do say it all.

Hi JD, I've tried a few times to write posts for the threads but it's never easy. The blessed keys aren't big enough for one thing, not for writing quite a bit at least, then I've tapped on the page to zoom in...but usually end up having tapped a ruddy link instead which takes me straight off the site!!!

I hope you're able to sort your lappie out soon.....before you get too much older with failing eyesight etc! Sounds as though I could be talking about me there!! :rotfl:

Very wise words about having freed ourselves, JD!

    Sue x

Hi everyone, I hope you're all doing well, but if not that you'll come on here and tell us of any problems you're experiencing. It's far better to - to stop you thinking about stopping stopping. You can ALL make it through with courage and determination!

To all those thinking about stopping: I challenge you to try a day without any and see how you go; if that turns out not to be too bad then try another - if nothing else - think of the money you'll save in those 2 days alone!!! To help get you through each day try the pledge below.
    Quitters Pledge
"Today I promise not to smoke any cigarettes, tomorrow - if I wish - I may do."
Renew the pledge every morning on waking. This helps in not making quitting feel as though you're planning something lifelong, it helps trick the mind in taking it all one day at a time. The lifelong part you determine for yourself when you're ready.

    Best wishes,

    Sue x
