Hi JD! Have a good weekend and enjoy it all, especially Saturday! I'm not so bad thanks, on a steroid trial now to see what happens, and at present.........I'm barely itching!!!!! :j:j:j Fingers crossed when I come off the pills that it stays that way.

Well done with the patches, just keep some by as back up, that way you'll more than likely be fine. Doesn't it feel wonderful to be doing it all by yourself though - you and willpower alone now! Still, the patches got you safely to her and that is what's most important.

Another lovely pink tongue to report then, and a lot more that you can't see too!

Can't believe I started smoking over 18 years ago! At the rate I (don't) smoke now, that's 18 grand to make up!

A very warm welcome to the thread, JayC!!! Well done on realising there's nothing good about lighting up, only harm can be risked by puffing, that and ££££££s wasted!! :eek:

How are you doing it, NRT, Alan Carr or willpower? Also have you seen a Cessation Nurse, if not try to get an appointment, they really are good and you have someone to see on a regular basis which can be very helpful.

However you're stopping - we are here to help you in any way possible. I'm sending a PM, please read it as there are some very useful tips. Also, read through the thread as the posts of others can be so inspirational.




Start each day with the Quitters Pledge, below.

"Today I promise not to smoke any cigarettes, tomorrow - if I wish - I may do."

Renew the pledge every morning on waking. This helps in not making quitting feel as though you're planning something lifelong, it helps trick the mind in taking it all one day at a time. The lifelong part you determine for yourself when you're ready.



Stay with us and talk out your feelings, it's so helpful.

The support I have on here from YOU especially has gotten me through some tough "shall I shant I .....can I cant I " moments but I am DELIGHTED to have gotten to this milestone :D:D:D

Throw away All the fagalia so as not tempted and have a plan to cope with those fag related rituals ,
find something to keep hands busy ,
start a fag free fund and watch them pennies grow into £,s
