Wonderful news, 166million!!! It really pushes you on when you see the amount you save; that coupled with the amount of sticks you've NOT puffed is terrific motivation! :T

IF it's necessary, try this each day (or whenever necessary), many have said it helps a great deal.
    Quitters Pledge
"Today I promise not to smoke any cigarettes, tomorrow - if I wish - I may do."
Renew the pledge every morning on waking. This helps in not making quitting feel as though you're planning something lifelong, it helps trick the mind in taking it all one day at a time. The lifelong part you determine for yourself when you're ready.

    Sue x

Good to see you yet another day further in, determined. :D

    Sue x

See, folks, it is do-able and hundreds of thousands of us have taken the plunge and succeeded. D'you think YOU - yes YOU reading this - could at least give it a go??? Go on, there's nothing to lose whatsoever, but sooo much to gain, I promise you!

  • Hi All
not been in for a while again but so pleased to see determined and Fergie still going strong. SO very well done on your first month. It feels so so good dont it
Welcome to newbies, well done so far and keep it up
Approaching 2 months for me, cant believe I have done it and coping so well. :T
At long last my gums have stopped bleeding, my legs have stopped aching after a day on my feet(must have been bad circulation), no longer craving sweets and diet near back to normal apart from maybe eating a wee bit too much at times in the evening.
I now enjoy eating popadoms which i detested previously and also wholemeal noodles. Have had my first ever stir fry with noodles at the age of 49 lol  as my taste buds are doing so well. White bread is now eeuucchh and wholemeal is all I eat. Soup.....lots and lots of soup of all kinds which I was never a huge lover of whilst I was a smoker so lots of healthy veg getting eaten now too.:cool:
I have saved over 250 quid :money:
Who, reading or lurking can not possibly want to give no smoking a go???
Absolutely nothing to lose but lots to gain in just trying

OH and the biggest bonus of all..........my children are so so proud of me and what I have achieved after all the years of nagging from them to stop....thats priceless :T:T:T:T:T:T

    SO to everyone reading
KEEP GOING make yourself proud never mind anyone else
    OR
STOP just give stopping a go, try it, even for an hour, just try, remember you have nothing to lose in trying

    XX
    Well done again to everyone

Excellent news, cheesytwist!!!! :T:T:T You sound as though you're almost on a huge high, but then that's how it gets us at the thrill at having DONE it!!!! :j

What a difference it's made to your life...and your kiddies, I expect they feel you're so much safer now, amazing how our young'ns are forced to worry about us, with just cause I might add to.

You're right about the circulation, it all gets stifled, same with the gums. You're well on your way to being a whole new woman! Keep dropping by and updating us, and thanks so much for giving others so much incentive. :D

What a phrase to close with today, cheesytwist, enough to get all folk thinking hard, at least, about trying to stop. Thanks for the paragraph, brilliant. ;)

    Hello everybody,

2nd day of no patch today and everything going great. I was really worried that I hadn't actually 'stopped' because I was still on the patches but they must be so low dosed that I haven't missed them at all - I now feel so much more confident that I need nothing to keep me smoke-free.

To anyone else - lurking or newly started - listen to your smoking cessation nurse (CN) if you have one. Mine assured me that just gradually reducing the strength of the patches would work and cynical old me didn't believe her....but it's true. Don't take it off too early either as I was tempted to.

My tongue has gone back to a lovely pink colour so it is amazing how quickly the body starts to repair itself after the abuse I have been giving it for 30 years!!

Anyway, just popped in to say have a good weekend everyone and stay strong xxxxx
