    Afternoon everyone!

I hope it's a great one for everybody, despite the terrible weather. :(

Hi Fergie, isn't it marvellous not to have to keep an eye out for where to be able to puff and to simply enjoy the day and all that's there.

Superb news at being close to 3 & 1/2 weeks of freedom for you!! :T :j :T
That never being able to drive again, regardless of whether you need to or not, is very close to not smoking; truth is I can relate to both very well.

You're handling all this so terribly well, I really do hope you're very, VERY proud of yourself because you've every reason to be!

I'm ok thanks, the Dr is phoning tomorrow and if things are the same he's referring me to the Dermatologist. Here's hoping it won't be too long. I look at it this way, there are thousands, possibly millions, a darn site worse off than me - and no end in cemeteries who'd gladly change places with me! However, for as long as is possible.......I'm staying put!! :D

    Sue xx

oooooh what are you hoping for, JD!!! She's trying to lure fellars, girls.....keep an eye on her! ;)

Not much longer for you until that magical YEAR is here! :j I noticed that at the weekend and could scarcely believe it!!! :T:T:T:T

    Sue xx

Please, everyone, take great note of JD's words below, they make great sense.
plenty of room here for more wannabes what you waiting for . rip up that packet , smash the ashtray, ditch the lighter and jump aboard.

    So, when you're ready.........

Hi everyone  Just popping in to say I'm still smoke free (heading for 4 years in January!!) Never think about smoking these days - nearly died when I noticed the price of fags the other day as I was in a queue at a local shop

Keep on keeping on everyone - this is so worth it! It does take time before your reaction to this or that stressor is no longer a smoke, but believe me, that day does come :j Hope you're doing ok Sue - great to see you are still here giving so much support to quitters.

    Pam x
  • aw congrats Motherofthekid :T that's brilliant you must be so proud of yourself. How do you feel? Had any wobbles recently? I say this as I gave up for 6 months and then started again  am mentally prepared this time. Was just thinking I might write a little note to myself and put it in my purse to remind myself how good it feels to smoke and what a waste of time, resources and life it is!

Look forward to your 1 year post :j
Hi, I am proud of myself but also disappointed with the weight I've put on. It's a struggle to lose it as I'm naturally lazy!!! This also works as an extra incentive never to smoke again - if I started smoking again, I would still have this extra weight.

I still think of having a cigarette, sometimes when I'm having a coffee and a chat, but it quickly passes. if I am with someone who does smoke, I'm not tempted at all as it smells so disgusting and so do they! I no longer want to smell like that.

I also think the novelty of "not smoking" wears off which is where this thread is really helpful, you can dip in and out, watch the progress of those in the early days of stopping and those a lot further down the line than yourself. :)

Wonderful to see you back again, Pam!!!!! :wave:You really are THAT close to 4 years??!!!!! Brilliant news!!! :T:T:T:T:T

It really is tremendous to have folk like you come back and tell us how you're doing; it's even better that you take the trouble to help others to keep going no matter what!!! Don't ever stop! No don't worry....I know for sure that you won't. :grinheart

    Many congratulations to you
    , Pam, you're a real inspiration!

Sue xxx BTW, I'm fine thanks, glad you are too. :)

All very well put, MotheroftheKid! You really did take on this challenge with great forethought, and you keep right on going and never let anything stand in your way. Like Pam, you really are so very inspiring!

Thanks so much for your words about the thread, it's really lovely to know it helps so much. Thank you!

  • I feel like I'm intruding on a hen party,I wont be stripping where are all the lads?

Hi Sue I wish you well,I'm now a month into my second year been watching but not posted much recently, I'm struggling to get to grips with my new MacBook Air bought with my new wealth.

Anyway you seem to have a decent group of quitters all offering support, particularly JD. I endorse the wise words of Frugalpam I think I am already at that stage.

SaLoGo can it be true, 6 months I remember your first post you have cracked it,you know you are healthier, you know you are wealthier stay with it.

Hellooo there Denis!!!! Don't you ever feel as though you're intruding, we love to see a man about the place and it's always good to see YOU!!

We did have Chris, maybe he's just biding time til he comes back to see us, but as JD says...or dreams....there maybe plenty more males lurking! ;)

GREAT news of time passed by for you, Denis, you've done so marvellously and we're all so proud of you and know exactly how you feel. Always hang onto that pride at all you accomplished - even when you're struggling with your Mac!

Love to you, to Beryl and your lass as well. Please keep on popping in, not only does it motivate folk, it's another voice to urge folk on and helps keep the thread visible for others to see! Apart from that - JD gets her wish! :rotfl:

There y' are see, JD it happened for you and for us all!!! OK, what next do we want?

All the best with the laptop. Might sound daft but I was fine with the desktop, but since changing to a lappie I've been making more mistakes, especially with not hitting the first letter of words. Maybe tis me, but either way I'm needing to re-read all e-mails and posts to be sure. :(

Drive safely when taking DD back to Uni!

    !

Hi there, determined and good to see you staying so strong amidst the stress! :T:T I know you're fully aware that no amount of fags will solve it or make you feel better anyway.

However, NEVER, ever feel jealous of a smoker!!!!! :naughty: They still need to find the rout to freedom from fags - or stick with them and risk so much of life. Whereas YOU are a whole month away from that life and gaining more freedom from it all with each new day!!!

Stay strong and determined NEVER again to be like those poor smokers you come across. I'm now 13 years & 10 months away from that stage of life and you too will be proudly stating that in the future! :D Keep true to your name!

I love that last sentence of yours....always bear it in mind, everyone else too please!!
