If they're not then they jolly well should be!
How are you, determined? Of course you're another who should be ecstatic with all you've achieved too, you're at your best this time round for sure......terrific work!! :T:T
Oh what a difference, IAASA!!!! :jYou should soon be hitting a zero or 1.
Just a little tip - keep away from roads, exhausts etc when on your way to the CN as it's surprising just how much that can influence the reading.
You really are doing just GREAT!!

Have a lovely weekend, everyone, stay safe and warm all those where the snow and ice is....and keep dry and safe all of you in flooding danger areas here in the SW!

Hi all,
I've not been in here for ages but just wanted to say I finally reached the 1 year mark! I actually cannot believe I've done it! I smoked from the age of 12 til I was 32, nearly 2 thirds of my life. It was almost 2nd nature to me. I'm actually amazing at the strength I've found to be able to give up. I really didn't know that I had it. It's made me a better, stronger person and I feel like I can do anything if I just put my mind to it.
Unfortunately, the main reason I stopped (for my wedding day) is no longer a reason and I've had the toughest month for cravings, but I stayed strong and not given up on giving up lol.
My biggest annoyance at the moment is when I say 'Ooooh, I could murder a fag' and someone replies 'No you couldn't!' I feel like screaming 'Well actually yes, I could. I won't have one, but I am allowed to want one!!!'.
Here are my Silk Quit stats:
One year, 13 hours, 50 minutes and 35 seconds.
4752 cigarettes not smoked, saving £1,425.75.
Life saved: 2 weeks, 2 days, 12 hours, 0 minutes. Been smoke free for 4 years!! :beer:0 -

Hiya Sal, it's just wonderful to see you back and.....having quit a whole year - and 13 hours ago!!!!!!!So many congratulations to you on such a massive achievement!!!!! :T:T:T:T:T
You've obviously amazed yourself, but look at the benefits you've noticed - now imagine all the internal ones you can't see or feel, it's terrific and I am just so delighted for you!! :grinheart
Brilliant stats, Sal!! Thanks so much for popping them on to inspire others to want what you now have - total freedom from them!
Sorry to hear about the reason for quitting having gone to pot, but there's also a reason for that, he's not the one for you! So take heart and know that you will find love in the best form...and be ready for it.
You'll get over the mind thinking it 'wants one', things like you've endured test us all as we always succumbed at such times - but not any more....even if temporarily you can't help but be tormented.
Never, ever give into it, Sal, though I don't see that happening with you somehow, you're far too wise and appreciative of the benefits you've made.
Your name will now go on the MSE Quitters hall of fame that I keep, and I just couldn't be more happy for you!! :j
Don't forget to keep us updated, it helps others in progress so much.
Fantastic news, Sal!!

Hi IAASA, so sorry to hear of the nausea, could it be due to anything else? Have a think and see first, though if it is Champix then it's amazing that it's taken this long!
If you really do think it is them then maybe you should either lower or drop them, though I'd definitely seek medical advice first, even if only from your Pharmacist.
All best wishes,
Hugs, Sue x12Hrs!

Hello there, shinner, and a warm welcome to the thread and to the start of a much healthier and wealthier way of life!
Stay busy and you'll find it all much easier to handle as the mind is focused on other things. The £4 a day off each CC is a great incentive, but do please keep that motivation up after the CCs are gone. Think more of your health and how you can change that too!
I'll send you a PM to help you through, but also keep on coming to the thread and telling us how things are going for you, it really does help to get your feelings down on 'paper' so to speak - good or bad - we've heard it all before and it's so very natural.
Have a read through the thread at the inspiring posts, they too will help a great deal. Keep an account of how much you save...even after the CCs, you'll find it spurs you on in a big way.
Here is the link to Silk Quit meter to keep check on your savings, amount not smoked and life saved etc http://www.silkquit.org/sqmmiv/meter.aspx
All the very best, shinner!

Thankyou Sue for pm lots of helpful advice. I have been asked several times by my children to stop smoking. I know they dislike it and to be honest i didn't like it much.(habits are hard to kick) I don't like the smell in hair or clothes/house.
My OH is my problem he is a smoker and i tend to cave when i have had alcohol. The cigarette i always find the hardest is the morning one this is one of the reasons i have decided to pay off my cc initially prob take around 5yrs then will be an ISA i think. I have tried a jar but always dip into it. I thought as i am in debt seeing it go down will keep me driven.
I would love to be able someday to find time for me to exercise at present not enough hours for me in one day. So small steps and feel this is one step closer to becoming healthy.sealed pot challenge 099

Well done shinner, good idea to use the money towards your debts. Took my OH around a year to pack stop smoking cigarettes as it needed to be his choice. I pushed a little bit by reminding him he smelled (!), banning smoking from indoors and watching him go out to his workshop on cold/wet nights!
Might be an idea to avoid alcohol for a few weeks if you can or only stay in the company of non-smokers? How about swapping having a drink for jogging or an exercise dvd? Sounds like hard work but you can really get into this fitness thing. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.
