It is a good way of looking at it. When I'm feeling a little stonger I feel like it worse to be deprived of life but in my dark days I think I'm always going to be depressed so might aswell 'enjoy' the time im here. I don know that there's no real enjoyment in a cig but it sure does feel like it at times. I am trying to feel like I want to stop and I do but I fel I am in constant argument with myself about stopping vs not.
Arggh smoking

So glad to see you've stuck with it, your doing so well keeping away from the dreaded fags.
Been really feeling it again tonight but not smoked which is good. Going to try and get some sleep soon, sleep is pretty bad for me so tired a lot.

Hi Part Mouse, please believe me when I say that all the feelings you've described above have been felt by us all - me included!!! It is not just you! We all need to be thoroughly positive and a 100% committed when stopping or there's little point.
Every day you wake up, feel so delighted that yesterday is another one to be ticked off...and so proud of - even if you didn't feel happy through it. You still made it, that's what counts!!
Please take notice af anablle's post, she's not just talking about herself but the feelings we've all had...for a short while!
Hugs, Sue xxPm !! A terrific post, anablle!! One to be so proud of as you came through it. No, you're not over it yet, but, by heck, you're doing wonderfully and have so much to be proud of, so much to make you want to keep striving ahead too!! :T:T
Keep that exercise up as I'm sure it's transformed you.
Sue - so chuffed! xx
Hi Claire and a very warm welcome to the thread. Luck comes in abundance from us all...though mostly good luck you make yourself! It'll happen if you want it bad enough, DH too.
See you when you're ready.

Stay strong and resolute, everyone, and keep looking forward to overcoming that terrific challenge ~ just like anablle! The easy option is not to bother ~ why take the easy options when you stand the chance of winning through and completing your journey, the journey of a lifetime! :grinheart

I am commited and do feel better with each day that passes but I fear its only a matter of time before I smoke againSo many others before me have quit smoking and many more will do. I just can't see me ever being a happy non smoker again.
Sorry for the moan all.
Hope everyone is going strong.

Hi Part Mouse, please don't apologise for moaning, that's what the thread is for, so you can let us know how you're feeling. I honestly think you're analysing things far too much though. I'm delighted that you're sticking to stopping the cigs, now take it a day at a time and wait for the happiness to shine through.
Just one question - what do you do exercise wise? Be absolutely honest as it won't help if you're not.
Remember now, one day at a time and Start each day with the Quitters Pledge remember?Quitters Pledge"Today I promise not to smoke any cigarettes, tomorrow - if I wish - I may do."Renew the pledge every morning on waking and at any other time of day you need.
Hugs and sleep well, Sue xxxThis sounds terrible but im a 40 a day person and so is DH.

Hi Claire, please don't worry about the 40 s day habit you've had, you're not the first, honestly. :grinheartWell done in the reduction today, especially you! Though DH has done marvellously too!
Is there a reason you're using the patches and spray as well as the AC book? The least you can manage with the faster you'll get through it.
Once you stop, try start each day with the Quitters PledgeQuitters Pledge"Today I promise not to smoke any cigarettes, tomorrow - if I wish - I may do."Renew the pledge every morning on waking. This helps in not making quitting feel as though you're planning something lifelong, it helps trick the mind in taking it all one day at a time. The lifelong part you determine for yourself when you're ready.
All very best wishes for Friday or whenever you decide to stop.
Sue xx
Well done, babes, it's always good for folk to have that vital encouragement, it works wonders.
