    Morning All!

Anablle - it is quiet on here isn't it.

Part Mouse - keep trying, you will get there, but let the emotion flow, it is all part of the process of letting go.

I am still plodding away, trying to forget that I ever smoked.

I struggle like mad in the evening and if I didn't have the kids in bed, I am certain I would have done what you have done Anablle. Hideous isn't it, but you have shown such strength that I can only envy.

My OH has put all his bacci supply in his van so I haven't got any access to it whilst he is at work, but if it was at home, I am not sure I could have resisted in a weak moment.

My friend is selling me her cross trainer which I am going to go on with gusto in the evenings to burn off some nervous energy!

Part Mouse - my heart bleeds every time I read your posts, but you are still on here and I still know that you will get there.

Good luck everyone, another beautiful smoke free day ahead. :)

Hey dave i know how u feel, I did the patches for two wks then for the last few days I'm going without anything ,so feel like I'm starting all over again , if u read through my posts u can see I'm not finding it easy I did the storming out the house and driving shop trick again tonite and again I drove on by ,I really don't no where I'm getting this strength not to go in the shop but I am . So what I'm trying to say dave is find that inner strength ( we all have it ) and give it another go . If I can I'm sure u can goodluc dave .

    Thanks for the reply :)

I've decided to quit again today, just going to finish the patches I bought at the weekend, then a week each on steps 2 and 3, just to get used to the day to day life without the fags.

I know all this sounds familiar but I am determined this time. I've been kidding myself over the past week or so that "just one fag" will be ok, of course it's not and means I haven't really quit.

I need to be positive all the time - I've quit and am NOT going to have another one. I know we all have bad days, by that I mean work etc, but I can't let that drag me down because smoking didn't help with stressful days it contributed to it.

I am going to write down all the good things I'll be gaining by quitting and keep it with me - it's going to be a long list!

I also need to think of quitting as a journey rather than a journey with a destination, not wait for that LBM. In many ways I've already reached that destination, the journey ahead is what happens after I reach it (I hope that makes sense?!!)

Part Mouse - In relation to you smoking again, I have been there MANY times so I can relate to your feelings. The best advice any of us can give you is to put it behind you and quit again.

    Hi all

Thanks for the kind words, your all doing so great :)

Iv'e spent the last 18 months stopping and starting and nothing is really working :( I have to be smoke free for the op in less than 2 weeks.Having stopped for 3 years I thought I could easily stop again. Not sure the depression likes the stopping and starting all the time.

I feel like such a failure.

    Hi PM

I know how you feel, I felt the same yesterday when I felt as if I'd lost all enthusiasm to quit. I thought that smoking was the easier option. I suppose in the short term it is, but deep down I knew that it wasn't the answer.

Set a time (tomorrow morning?) and work towards that, maybe a day without trying to quit will enhance the chances of successfully succeeding next time.

    Hope this helps?

    Good luck :)

    Hi Dave

I didn't buy and cigs yesterday, was with a friend that smoked so had approx 5 with her. My dh doesn't know I smoked, he would go mad as he knows how long I have been waiting for this op.

Good to hear your sounding more positive.

I know it's tough getting over that initial bump in the road once you've started again, all the resolve and determination seems to drain out of you - I should know.
The thing is you haven't failed, you are at the same place you were at before you quit, so you haven't lost anything. I know time is of the essence for you so pick yourself up and go for it again :)
