Part Mouse you sound a lot like me, I also have depression. I was lucky though, as I had reached the point where I just didn't want to smoke any more - it was less of a loss for me. Don't really have any good advice for you, but just reaching out to say stay strong, it will get better.
Does anyone think its worth looking at the Alan Carr book at this stage? Thinking of getting the audiobook. I'm on 115 days now and aiming for 9 months my next milestone.

Very well done to youyou've done so well. Sorry to hear that you to suffer from depression.
I think they key really is reaching a point where you don't want to smoke anymore rather than having to stop.

I struggled for many years to give up but finally did £20,000 ago.
And yes, I did save it in every sense of the word. That's seven years ago.

Morning All!
Doing really well at the moment, broken the habit.
Been REALLY stressed at times but have pushed through it.
Feeling really positive that I CAN do this.
I have little dittys in my head when I feel tempted like - 'my lungs need air not smoke'. 'it takes 21 days to break a habit'. 'you are giving up absolutely nothing'.
It helps in my hours of weakness, of which there are still many!
Well done to everyone else working through their various barriers. Anablle, I deliberately stopped posting on here the last couple of days to make not smoking normal, if that makes sense.
But I have realised that we all still need support so will go back to being more proactive.
Good luck everyone today, look forward not back, ditch one fag at a time. You CAN do it.Smoke Free since 1 January 20130 -
Hi everyone! So sorry not to have been here with you, but I've been fairly rough for the last few days, but am back and fit now.
I must admit that some of the posts on the last couple of pages had me worried just now when reading through, so I was delighted to at least see annablle and warez sounding so much more positive now!
Press on with the cross trainer, warez, using that will not only help keep you motivated but will definitely help allay your weight-gain fears. Look how far you've come now...and beat the so called 'doom and gloom' of the three week hiccup!!! You're now tother side and heading towards that......:silenced: Nothing, never said a word.
Very proud, Sue xx
annablle I am so, so VERY proud of how you're sounding now!!! :grinheart So, it' now 3 weeks and 2 days and congratulations to you on having come through such a tough time!!!!!! :T :j :T You've worked hard and battled with that blasted nic at times, but it just does to show what you're capable of when determination shines through and beats the bad thoughts!!!!!!! You are at a good point on your journey, annablle, be really proud of all you've put in as you'll get so much out!!

Hi there, 166million!!!! Excellent news on having got so far!!!!! VERY well done to you!!!! :T:T:T:T Re the AC book/audio, I'd imagine it's up to the individual. However, if YOU think it could do good and help further establish your desire to kick the weed for good then go ahead - why not?!
Oh dear, Part Mouse, how depression can so quickly bring us down! I suffered with it for years - until I quit the fags and that is absolute truth, I promise you!!
You were doing so very, very well, about the best I've known you do through the last few years. You're not now going to throw it all away surely?!! Cry as many tears as it takes and get all the sadness out and then - grasp the nettle! Only YOU can do this, and you know you CAN as you've done so before!
For now, please, - keep away from friends that smoke as all too often they're quite happy for you to stay in their fast-shrinking circle of smokey friends....and for you to risk your health as well as theirs!
Read through the PM again, water, fruit, plenty of exercise as that will help you soooo much with the depression too!!
Do you want that op, PM??! If you do, you need to help get you there.
Hugs, Sue xxx
Hi Dave, it's so good to see you back! Whatever happens, never ever stop trying! Have you been to a Cessation Nurse yet? I honestly believe that if not this could be your best way forward. Do please make an appointment as you sound desperate to stop those wretched fags and we all want that for you!
You've been giving out some great advice so you know what's needed. You'll get there, providing you truly want to. Please let me know where you are now. Thanks.
Hugs, Sue xxx
All the best to you, tyadog, I'm sure you're still going very well.
Sue xx
Lovely to see you, determined, good to hear you're still going well.
