I took a book round to a friend, we go on charity shop hunts for books and often swap once we've read them, and she gave me some plants she has grown, stocks petunia and daisies.

The only person I get stuff from is my mum, but we are always passing on things to each other (and I also freegle stuff that's not suitable for the charity shop).

Over the last week I gave her, bones for the dog, kitchen utensils (I only use silicon ones now so had a load of nylon ones stashed in a draw doing nothing) and some suet.

She's given me some take away containers as she alwasy has loads (we don't have a dishwasher and they are a pain to clean if they've stored anything with fat/oil), and some knitting needles (we're always passing them back and forth)!
A waist is a terrible thing to mind.
  • Morning everyone. Today I am giving a friend a disney princess lamp, a pink lampshade, a string of heart fairy lights and a pink flower wall light. I only need to be told once that little one is getting her own room.
I am also giving her an unused office chair as she told me ds1 has now got a desk and she is going to get the chair in the week, no longer. We went out to eat yesterday and she was wiping the high chair down with anti bac wipes and i remembered i have some wipes and mini sprays so will be giving her those too (due to Metro giving away influenza kits, i got 3)
I love it when you or someone else says 'oh i should get this' and you have it and are not using it. It also makes you thing about the things you 'need' if you are able to give them away.
I got 2 more petrol coupons yesterday too, every little helps :-)

    What a lovely thread.

We have been given lots of things this week as my parents came to stay with us (they live 200 miles away) and they always bring us treats.

They brought us local (to them) sausages, pies and a piece of rolled lamb from their butchers; fruit they didn't want wasting whilst they were away; passed on magazines for us to read; new toys and clothes for DS my Mum picked up at a boot sale; and some meals my Mum had made for our freezer. My Dad also gave us a lottery ticket which he'd won £10; lawn feed for our lawn and a new cooker hood filter he wouldn't let us pay for. He'd also grown us some tomato plants for our garden. My parents are wonderful people, I am so lucky to have them and miss them terribly when they go home. It is so nice to spend time with them when they come to visit.

I gave my Mum a £3 voucher I had for Lakeland; a couple of £2 coins as she saves them in a pot; a child's gift for her to give to a nephew as a christmas gift, as my DS has something similar already; some mints and sweets for my Dad to put in his new car and some mint from my garden to grow in theirs. Nothing, in comparison is it? :( I would give them the world if I could!

To others, this past week we have given out loads of onions as we bought in bulk and there were too many for us to use. I also gave a pregnant friend some new baby bedding we never used and to another friend, I passed on a big bag of baby clothing/toys our son has grown out of and some food he will no longer eat!

I was also given a bottle of wine and some chocolates from someone for doing some work for them. My DH had the wine and I shared the chocolates with collleagues.

Writing this down makes me feel so lucky, and I shall try to give 'something' each week in future.

I also got given a full size Superdrug BB cream today, brilliant stuff (well the Garnier that I already have is, hope this is too) my pal works there and tis one of the many perks for me that she does not wear cosmetics so I get her freebies, yipee.

    What a delightful post.
A week or so ago a lady gave me some wacking great plants.
I should explain that i'm a checkout dolly (haha) and had talked about how I like big green things in the garden.
Bless her, this lady took some plants and gave them on her last visit to our store - how nice is that.

a lottie neighbour gave me space in his big greenhouse to house my trays of seedlings at our allotment site, so that they can grow better than the cramped conditions that they were in either in the bedrooms at home and the plastic walk-in i have!

today, i'm baking him a Rhubarb n' Custard Cake in return, coz i'm so grateful for what he's done for me (plus mending my wheelbarrow tyre!) it would of been hard transporting all 9 trays of seedlings to the lotti one by one (or two by two at the most) on foot!
