...... 6 apples and it got me to thinking that I quite often get given stuff. I was talking to a friend earlier and mentioned that I liked being given stuff and she said well you do the same (I had gave her a duvet set I had rarely used some time ago) and she also liked the feeling of getting given stuff so I thought it would be interesting to see over a period of time just what me/we did get given.
I know last week I had been given 2 cans of Monster, 2 Rimmel nail varnishes and a bottle of perfume.
So what have you had given to you? I think i'll pop on each time I get given something, hope you will too
p.s hope this is in the right place

I got given a pen on Saturday - I love all things stationery so it made me really happy. My husband has lent me his 'spare' mobile phone today - not quite a gift but a long loan until my current mobile contract runs out and I can get a replacement. I took flapjacks into work today that I had made yesterday in a butchered version of twinks hobnob recipe, so I am a giver and a receiver at the moment. Nice idea for a threadBlah0

cheers chuck, ooooh i too have a thing about stationary ( must not go near Staples, must not go near Staples) I just rang the friend I mentioned earlier to ask if she wanted some sheets that i will no longer use (finally got round to purchasing extra deep fitted sheets, love, love, love them!) said I wouldn't be offended if she said no, she said yes so thats good. I do give lots to charity shops but you know what they say, charity begins at home. Oh I will not miss having my sheets go 'ping' in the night, hahahaLittlewoods £10 Very BNPL £234.42

twinkly lights sound lovely and lucky you to have got given eggs, would love to be in that position. Wish my daughter would give me gems, when I empty her pockets they are always full of twigs and stones! Love the magnet idea, I'm having that one, thanksLittlewoods £10 Very BNPL £234.42

someone gave me a posh box of choccies today because I fixed their favourite necklace for them
Last week I was given a bundle of broken bead necklaces/bracelets. I make bead jewellery so that made me really happy.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
It's going back a very long time, but a friend gave us a lovely Chinese rug! She said it was rolled up in a corner of her bedroom, doing no-one any good, and could we make use of it? Basically, her husband had bought it on impulse, not thinking where it was going to go, and it was just taking up valuable room. I was so pleased - it's covered up the bald patch in our bedroom carpet, and it's lovely to step out of bed onto.:D
Our next-door neighbour is always kind enough to move our wheelie-bin back to its home in the carport after the bin men have been (I'm disabled and it's very difficult for me to move it myself, and my husband doesn't get home til nearly 19:00 so it'd be sat in the road for hours) so whenever we make jam, we give her a pot as a wee "thank-you" for this service.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
today i was given a pair of jeans for me, clothes for the kids and a buzz lightyear duvet set for ds2.
cant wait for him to see it tomorrow when its on his bed!!!!

I've been without an oven for several weeks, so when a friend gave me a friendship cake I couldn't keep my portion to bake - last Saturday she came round with a full cake that she'd baked for us - what a mate! I have a couple of jars of bramble jam from last summer so I'm going to give her one as a thank you.
Last Christmas my mum gave me some of her fabric stash; several pieces are nearly my age and I remember playing with them with my dolls as a child! Some of them will end up in a mini patchwork quilt later this summer.

This week we've been given 5 pots of beautiful flowers, a basket of flowers, some smelly cheese from DDs grandmas latest trip to France (oops...not sure she remembered we are vegan!), 4 bottles of Israeli wine and some Israeli vegan white chocolate (one of my close friends goes to Israel a few times a year and always brings me back the same thing!). DD has been given some hand me down uniform as she's moving up into 'main school' in September and someone at her granddads work has a daughter at the same school. Oh, also my mum gave us a lawnmower!
Also (not so nice) some humane mouse traps. We found a couple of droppings. My LL gave me two in case there are a pair of them as "she'd hate to think we were breaking up some mice by releasing them separately"...she's a bit of a softie!
We gave away some smelly cheese (hehe!), a bottle of champagne - we get a lot free as DDs granddad runs the Europe bit of a big alcoholic drinks company, so we seem to accumulate them faster than we can drink them, some non-vegan chocolate - we have loads in our 'gift stash' as even when we ate animal products we weren't big on chocs and were always being given them. The Champagne and chocs were for my friends birthday this week. I feel mean now, realising they were both free...
I'd never noticed how generous people are...0
