Glad you've got a date on the horizon Granny.

Get your casework ready to hand over this week, so that if you get a last minute slot, or get signed off by GP, you won't have work to worry about. Perhaps flag up to your manager that the workload could need farming out. Ask who he would like to nominate for each case? It may make him feel he can "manage" the situation?

    Hugs xx

Oh what good news, and not too much longer to wait!
Really hope you can sort out the work situation either by getting rid of it or by getting it reallocated.
Do be careful with taking too much home, do you really get through it all or are you hopeful with the amounts to take back?
Great you are up-beat and really hope this is the start for 2014 you need
Time now to also plan the SLOW recovery period!

Thanks my dear friends, it really is heart warming to have your support

Piq, after my op I hope to be able to do lots of bouncing, skipping, running around, that's definitely off the table at the moment :D can't wait to be well enough to run around at the park with DGC.

Satchmo, boss is fully aware of the situation and will be more than happy to farm my work when necessary. I just want to ensure that it's as up to date as possible for whoever takes it over. Personal pride really, after all I have to go back to work eventually and face whomever it is. I'm being sensible and only dealing with the urgent stuff whilst ensuring that it's clear what still needs to be done. I'm unlikely to be off work before the week after next and maybe even later, so 2 weeks tomorrow is my personal target date. If it happens before then at least I can show I tried.

Missrlr, I'm definitely guilty of being over optimistic about the amount of work I need to take with me but realise I need to be more selective for now. I can deal with some of my case work without taking the physical files home, so that is how I'm going to deal with it over the next couple of weeks. That way if I get a short notice call, I don't have to stress on how to return it. So from now on I'll be taking 1 file per day home and anything else will be dealt with remotely.

I have every intention of taking my time to recover. Discussed it with boss today and agreed would probably take me longer than anticipated in light of office relocation.

    Today was nsd#8 :j

finally got to the bottom of the missing items from before Christmas, they were stolen from the delivery driver's van after all and therefore never arrived. After raising another query yesterday was finally told the truth and told to reorder the items and I will still get them on 3 for 2offer so no charge. 1st item, a gift meant for OH arrived today, DGD1s is on the way. Kept DGD2 as didn't feel right giving it to her and not to DGD1, luckily they will still be suitable for next year.

Still haven't done my debt review, need to find time this weekend

off to bed now, night all

yey, it's Friday tomorrow, one step closer to operation day

Thanks Robin, I feel so much happier since getting the nod. At least now I can see an end in sight, before all I could see was pain and illness.

The pain hasn't gone anywhere, in fact it gets worse as time goes by, but with a date in mind I can focus on, I feel I can just about cope.

Bad night's sleep last night led to me falling asleep in the early hours and waking up late for work. I just about got there in time for my meeting with no time for breakfast or time to pace myself. Ended up working until 7.30 but got lots of things that have been outstanding for a while and therefore urgent done at long last.

Next week should be an easier week as a result so I'm glad I persevered but gosh I'm tired now. Should help with sleep tonight hopefully

    Nsd#9 today

Ebay item now up to £2.04 with 15 hours to go. Other item has 4 watchers, no bids and other one nowt. Rule is listed 2 and then given/thrown away.

Planning on doing some sorting out this weekend if fit enough and/ finances review

Hope you all have a good weekend
