Thanks all I'm really hoping its a really positive step forward. Once they agree to help will aim to operate within 8 wks, so could be sorted by end Feb if not sooner.
This is great news, I hope you hear back very soon and that you don't have to wait the whole 8 weeks for the op :) xx

    Thanks Mrs F and DF(w)

1st day back done and dusted, thank goodness. I'm shattered and in pain from trundling my case work up a flight of stairs as the lift is out of action. This is not good and needs to be addressed as otherwise I'll be back to feeling how I did before Christmas and will have to be signed off as unfit for work. The only alternative is to work in the office every day so I don't have to carry anything anywhere but will mean I'm not able to take a break when necessary. I so wish I could be called to hospital sooner rather than later, I'm trying not to go off before in case I need more time post op.

Anyway, working from home next 2 days so bit more freedom

    Today was NSD#6

Further small op made to target card - determined to get rid of it this year

You definitely shouldn't be carrying heavy things up stairs. We need to find you a manservant! Take it easy granny, work isn't worth your health.

I have one at home but sadly not at work. Even though work have been understanding about my poor health it would just be suggested that I don't work from home, not really a sensible solution. I'm going to see how I am on Friday and if the same thing happens, I'll have to go to the drs to be signed off.

    Hi Granny

I hope the op is sorted soon for you. You cant carry on at work with things as they are - like you say - will make you worse. Can the powers that be not sort something for you?
  • Is there not someone at work who is younger & fitter that could do the carrying for you? I would help if someone I worked with were unable to do it themselves and I'm sure there are kind people in your place of work that may do it for you if you ask? That way you could still work from home when needed. Hope you get the phone call very soon xx

Just had email from healthcare, will def operate within 8 weeks from today, although may need consult first to decide which op. So chuffed, it's a lovely hospital with really good reviews. Can't believe finally know will all be done by 5 March if not sooner

Thanks for continued support Lam & DF(w)

As to help from colleagues, sadly not really an option, I was told before when I couldn't carry my case of work to and from home due to out of action lift, I'd have to come into work every day until it was fixed. As the office is closing in April, it's unlikely the lift will be repaired before then. I'm just going to have to be slightly more selective of how much work I take home for the next 2 weeks.

Got a drs appointment on 24th and may get signed off then if necessary as op shouldn't be much later after that

    Today is nsd#7

No op today as yet, not checked my account today, running close to £0 balance in bank now anyway, although can use OD if needed

I feel so upbeat and it's all due to healthcare :D

Thanks Lucky, I'm as chuffed as chuffed can be. It's silly really as the latest date they can call me is only 1 week before the NHS but I'm hoping for sooner. It's just the fact that its a nicer hospital which is also much more conveniently situated with better, (open) visiting hours to suit OH.

I'm in the process of sorting out my case work so I can hand it over to someone else in the next 2 weeks - for once I'm being optimistic
