Thank you dear friends and Happy New year to one and all

Had a nice night last night, drank far too much and felt a bit maudlin but snapped out of it knowing it was the drink. Probably compounded by the fact that I've drunk very little all year. Considered stopping but OH would have been disappointed, drank plenty of water to counteract the damage. Felt very lethargic today so haven't done much at all.

Nsd #1 achieved today, planning on having a frugal January as really don't need anything.

Just wanted to clear up a point re my targets for this year, they are not in order as they are all important to me, they are also not new year resolutions but pledges to improve my life for good.

My poor health affects my ability to exercise, my lack of exercise affects my weight, my weight affects my health and so the circle rolls around and around, never stopping and getting bigger each day. In addition the lack of money affects my ability to eat as healthily as I need to, my relationship with OH affects my motivation to keep track of unnecessary spending. I'm sure that you get the picture.

If I lose just a few kgs, I'll feel better about myself and if I move more I'll improve my fitness levels. Hopefully my operation will be done soon and then I can focus on getting better. Rather than waiting for that to happen though I'm going to improve what I can while I wait.

    Off to bed now

    Granny,

Wishing you a New Year that gets better and better.

You might be interested in a seated workout http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/fitness_articles.asp?id=1713 and I'd recommend joining SparkPeople - it's free and an easy way to keep track of food/exercise/fitness. Almost as good as MSE for the encouragement Spark People members give each other. There are hundreds of workout videos that are free, so no getting bored with the same old DVD.

You are right that it's a downward spiral when health issues seems to be getting in the way of health improvements, and health issues permeate every area of ones life. But small adjustments sometimes bring big improvements.

Would asking OH for help to exercise get him away from slumping in front of the telly and benefit him too?

    Hugs for you
