Is my husband being unreasonable or is it me ?

Emotional blackmail?:rotfl:
Yes I thought that too.
I've been running 'dads taxi' for over 20 years now. Dropping off at school, picking up. Taking to friends houses, picking them up. And now finally taking them to work in the mornings on my days off, and I've just returned at 8pm from collecting my 18 year old daughter from work this evening.
Whilst I have done more than my share of 'taxi' work over the years I have one golden rule. NEVER AFTER 8PM!
I've had the blackmail thing, what if I get raped on the way home? Well the simple answer to that is 'don't go'!
In this house dads taxi rank shuts at 8pm and I don't think that's unreasonable.
I wonder how the poster would feel if her partner decided that he would like a roast dinner prepared by her at 2am every Tuesday because he gets hungry then? I suspect she'd tell him where to go!0 -

I appreciate your point but it is not every day. It's once a fortnight for a total of about 10 minutes. What about the laundry/making packed lunches/preparing tea I do EVERY week day at 6am before leaving for work whilst OH is in bed. It's give & take surely ?0 -
You could solve all this by learning to drive.
Playing tit for tat over household chores solves nothing.Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud.0 -
You only seem to be listening to one side of this discussion, and its the side that agrees with you, sorry to say but you are coming across as unreasonable.
It seems not unreasonable to me for your husband to be able to make a decision that you do not agree with, the least you can do is see his side of it.0 -

I guess we all have different priorities, I wouldn't dream of driving my kids to work or picking an 18 year old up at 8 pm. Picking a 16 year old up at 11 pm? Yes that would be me.
Just to add when my OH worked shifts, in winter I would get up at 4.30 am to cook him a full English. Not only on Tuesdays either.Sell £1500

I think your being a bit unfair here. I've already asked the question that it may be me that is wrong/unreasonable. I've listened to all sides and am grateful for the replies/suggestions. I do see his side of it. If you've read my earlier posts I have stated that it's all well & good me expecting him to pick her up but I'm not the one getting out my comfy chair on a Sat night to do this. There is a lot of differing opinions. And I'm listening to them all:)0 -

Fair enough although you don't seem to be coming across like that to me, but of course we all bring our own baggage to whatever we read which affects our interpretation of it.0 -
