Ok - well, if anybody that reads this would like someone to accompany them to a Supernatural or any kind of sci-fi or fantasy related con sometime (as friends - can be male or female) then I'd be interested in doing that. Particularly if you're a Supernatural fan as I obviously need educating on that one! :-)

The next UK con is in....November. I'm not going (skintarooney), but I know loads of people who are (including a few guys so you don't feel too outnumbered). Linky here: http://www.rogueevent.co.uk/wordpress/?page_id=1775 Ticket price for the weekend is 85 quid (includes autographs and stage talks, but not photo ops with the stars). They usually announce another guest at the convention itself too. Not always, but often.

There is a FB group set up for attendees, where you could chat to the others before the event. I'm on there...most days. It's friendly, and FULL of women! lol The guys are on there too. Linky here: http://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/Asylum8/

I think the problem is geeky girls get snapped up pretty quick once lads find out their interests!
Iv been with my OH for over 5 years and im only 20! I think i may have started gaming before him even, my dads to blame for that! We live together and both sit on the sofa, me with my laptop and him with his brand new desktop *jealous*.

My OH now has the NVidia 3D screen and glasses for playing WoW. Jealous doesn't even cover it!

It's my own bl00dy fault for agreeing to contribute as part of his Xmas present.

This was just a random buy from him as hes got a placement year in uni- first two months wages bye bye!

Im not jealous about carting a desktop whenever we visit parents/his brother, i have my lovely neat laptop :)
I think having two desktops would be overkill!, the lounge would look like a tech-centre.

You should see our living room - OH has a desktop, a gaming laptop, oh...one of those mini laptops - they have a name....netbook (originally bought for his brother but he bought him an actual laptop on special offer last year), a server, countless hard drives, wires, memory sticks etc etc AND his other hobby is building working model aeroplanes (and one truck).

I'm convinced that at some point, they will become self aware and try to kill us! :rotfl:

Thankfully our two desktops are in the spare room, so we can corner our tech lab off from prying eyes :D Boxes of cables galore!

We've just had to combine our two glass computer desks into one solid wooden one that can hide two computer towers + cables away from our LO's little fingers...

My house is fully networked - I won't tell you the details of what I'm running on there as anybody reading this that may have been interested in me might run away screaming! ;-) I do have to run a lot of stuff as part of keeping my skills sharp and teaching myself new things though. That and having to research for a future business idea... my front bedroom could be mistaken for a server room!
