Mother's Day is fast approaching (18 March) and whether it's your mum, aunty, granny, or all three you're buying for, the cost can soon add up.
But there's no need to fork out a fortune to show your mum your appreciation. So I thought I'd tap MoneySavers collective knowledge for their tips on how to make your mum feel special for under a quid.
Report your best idea, where it's from or how to do it and include a link where possible.

Using your computer skills, design a pretty background and compose her a special message or poem. Print it off and put in a photo frame from the Pound Shop.

Maybe an aunt or gran has taken the role of a Mother in some families
My grandad is pretty much my Dad to me, and I always get him a card and present on Father's Day.0 -
I don't think we should be encouraging this idea.
Everyone knows Mom is worth splashing out on.......please!!0 -

Excellent 2nd post CarolPinkDreamer
I think you should post more often!
Can you tell I'm a Mum?
I read this on another thread by a poster called Chasing butterflies and think its a fantastic idea and it definately wouldn't cost much:
An idea for dads with younger children...
If you can get a couple of hours alone with your little one (which I am sure any mum would appreciate!)
Then get yourself some sheets of card, paint, a basin of soapy water, kitchen roll and some newspaper.
You can paint your little ones feet/hands and then help them to place there hands/feet onto a sheet of card (this may take more than one try!)
Clean the excess paint from their hands/feet and wash all remaining paint in basin (or a midday bathtime!)
Leave the card to dry flat and then you just need to go and get a frame to put your littleones "art" into...
I am sure that most mums would appreciate a momento like this - you forget how small they once were!
You could laminate or frame this for Mum.
There are also some poems that you could add to it on this thread:

as well as lots of other cheap and cheerful ideas.Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0
