Hi Guys!
As Mother's Day is the next 'occasion' on the calender I thought it would be nice if we could all put our ideas for pressies in one place so those of us who have no idea what to get their Mam (myself included!) can maybe get some inspiration!! I know I need all the help I can get!

if we're doing it mse style then like you say we have to think ahead!
i have already bought mine for my mum - things i know she'll like, for less - don't tell her.....
some pjs from primark, and 2 'as new books' from a charity shop for 20p each. less than £5 in total (dear for me).0 -
I am giving my mum a photo book of all our family. Loads of memories. I made it myself using a scrapbook and some imagination! lol!!
My daughter however will only be 11 months sooooo i am making myself one too! Have a feeling it may be a little too advanced for her at the moment!Moving house on January 31st.Its brand new and empty ARGH the stress.:eek:0 -
my two girlies last year gave me 2 primroses they had potted themselves they are only 2 and 6 so it was the best pressie:xmastree:Is loving life right now,yes I am a soppy fool who believes in the simple things in life :xmastree:0

If you can get a couple of hours alone with your little one (which I am sure any mum would appreciate!)
Then get yourself some sheets of card, paint, a basin of soapy water, kitchen roll and some newspaper.
You can paint your little ones feet/hands and then help them to place there hands/feet onto a sheet of card (this may take more than one try!)
Clean the excess paint from their hands/feet and wash all remaining paint in basin (or a midday bathtime!)
Leave the card to dry flat and then you just need to go and get a frame to put your littleones "art" into...
I am sure that most mums would appreciate a momento like this - you forget how small they once were!
Hope this helps someone out there!0 -
Sorry to be such a pedant but it's Mothers' Day not Mother's Day.0
-
To be really pedantic it's acually Mothering Sunday:o Mothers' day is the US version & happens on the same date each year, in the UK it's always a Sunday & the date chages.:o
My Mum & M-i-L will both be getting plants, usually I am organized enough to plant some bulbs ahead for them but think I am too late this year, unless any green-fingered MSE'rs can advise me otherwise?.Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!0 -
We can go ever further and say Mothering Sunday was originally the Sunday on which people were meant to return to mass at their Mother Church, the one where they were Christened. Of course that meant they often met up with their mother but it was in fact nothing to do with mothers at all.0

Here's a couple of poems to add too
For footprints“Walk a little slower mummy”, said a child so small
I’m following in your footsteps and I don’t want to fallSometimes your steps are very fastSometimes they’re hard to see
So walk a little slower, MummyFor you are leading me.Someday when I’m all grown upYou’re what I want to be
Then I’ll have a little childWho’ll want to follow meAnd I would want to lead just rightAnd know that I was true
So walk a little slower Mummy, For I must follow you
for HandprintsSometimes you get discouraged because I am so small
And always leave my fingerprints on furniture and walls
But every day I'm growing --I'll be grown some day
And all those tiny handprints Will surely fade away
So here's a special handprint just so that you can recall
Exactly how my fingers looked when I placed them here today0 -
I knew that we are not going to have much money this year, so i planned ahead, and bought LOADS of presents in the january sales,
I got all my mothers day stuff when the remaining sales items went to 75% off at boots.0
