I am doing my nut now with this company. I rang them up 3 weeks ago (before the Sky debacle) to try to reduce my outgoings from £85 p/m to a monthly cost more manageable. To cut a long story short the guy tempted me into the VIP package (£85 p/m) but this package improved on my package, but kept the same price as what I was previously paying. Anyway, they were due to come yesterday between 8am and 1pm. So I got up especially early (having waited 3 weeks looking forward to getting V+ and also a 2nd box in the bedroom). 1pm came and there was no sign of them. But I had to go out for a couple of hours at 1pm. I rang them on my mobile though while I was out, and the nice guy at customer services gave me £25 credit to my account as compensation. But when I came to arrange another day, it happens to be another 2 weeks away  and I also have to take a days holiday from work to get it on this day! So all in all from the date of order, it will be around 5 WEEKS from date of order until date of installation. Absolutely terrible the people in installations! Like I say, every person I have spoke to at customer services have been great. But the installation team are a joke. I say this though because initially I did ask if they could come anytime from 4pm yesterday after I got back in. They bluntly refused, even though I told them it would only be a very short installation (15mins tops) as I would personally have set up the equipment.0

anyway how is anyone finding V+?
I was jubious about taking virgin +, but it is really good and would feel lost without it! Put you fav programmes on series link and watch them when the kids are in bed! I can honestly say that there is always something to watch on tv now, and all for a tenner a month. bargain!!!!!!!0 -

Hi all
Let me tell you what I managed to get out of Virgin Media. Did a little home work first.
I was on Lowest 2mb broadband, telephone with no inclusive calls and lowest level T.V. all for £30 per month. Then my phone calls are added ontop of that leaving me with a bill of over £50 per month.
Called their 0800 number, waited about 40 minutes to be answered and basically told them:
a: Can get cheaper and faster broadband from talk talk
b: can get all local and national calls inclusive, with broadband for £20 with talk talk
c: I watch sky one!!!!
So I told them I am closing my account because I can do better on all 3 services.
After a very polite conversation for about 10 minutes I was offered
a: 10mb broadband (XL)
b: all local and national landline calls free, low cost international (XL I think)
c: lowest level telly. (Truth be known I can't stand skyone, not into sport etc etc) (M)
All for £26.08 - FOR EVER - Not for 6 months or 12 months or even 18 months. FOR EVER.
EVERYONE STAND YOUR GROUND. THIS HAS SAVED ME OVER £25 PER MONTH WHEN I CONSIDER MY PHONE CALL CHARGES PER MONTH
Good Luck.0 -

Having waited 4#for about an hour on hold, spent 10mins dialling different numbers as half the time the automated system just says ''Thank you for calling, we're too busy - goodbye" and hangs up!
Eventually got through and explained i was really into my sport and drama and was on a budget and hence had gone for the cheapest broadband and tv deal 2 for £20 counting on sky sports news and the simpsons to get through those evenings with nothing else to do!
Was offered upgrade to L package? i think with 40 extra channels over the basics one, for remainder of my contract, and also got sky sports free for one month.
Was hoping to get sky sports for at least 6months to take me through to end of the footy season. But with big exams in late April i suppose its a blessing in disguise!
So, still only paying £20/month
get 4MB broadband
L package + Sky sports for one month
reasonably happy, but annoyed i didnt get offered any credit for the massive mobile phone bill im going to have.0 -
Hi
Just phonned Virgin as I was charged for weekend national calls which I thought were now free with £11 package. Apparently you have to ask to switch to package with free national calls....it's the same price for heavens sake who wouldn't want it:rolleyes: There was no mention of this cheaper option with my phone bill that I got today. So that's what Virgin think of new NTL customers......
Anyway, while I was moaning about my phone bill asked for rebate for loss of Sky. Got £9.75 for 6 months....better in my pocket than Richard Branson's...he can afford it......
This is what we NTL customers can look forward to...but hey this is how we get treated by banks and utility companies and why we joined MSE.com:money:0 -
I was on 3 for £30 with Virgin Media. I rang them up this morning on 150 and foolishly opted to go through to the general enquiries line. I politely complained about the loss of Sky channels and got a right earful from a young lady about all the good things VM are doing which nobody ever rings to thank them for, only complaints!
I then waited a few hours and went for the retention department, spoke to a nice Geordie man called David and told him I've been receiving tempting offers from Sky in the post who have a cheaper package plus the cut Sky channels. He was really understanding and offered me either an upgrade to the XL TV package for the same price, or a £6 (PERMANENT!) bill reduction and upgrade to the L TV package.
I said I was more interested in broadband than TV and he said broadband should be being upgraded for free in May anyway. So I agreed to the second offer and he said he'd give me an additional one-off £9 cut on my next bill!0
