Not sure how my deal compare!
Phoned up saying I was ready to leave, but I really wanted to stay a Virgin Media customer because I thought it was a great company !!
I now have
XL Broad Band (10 meg)
XL TV
All Sky Movies
V+ Box (free installation - normally 75 quid)
and basic phone plan (I hardly ever use the land line)
For £51.50 a month.
Not too bad me thinks. Offer is forever.

thanks Martin.
Rang Virgin today We were on full TV package, Broadband & Telephone @ £73 per month. Got reduced to £57.45 for Eva
Plus unlimited local calls antime (was evening & weekend) Will miss Sky One, but worth staying with them for the saving. 0 -
I phoned at the end of last week and got upgraded to the XL package (as I previously posted.)
I wasn't happy with all these discounts others seemed to be getting on top and didn't want to be left out, so I phoned again:D
I'm getting V+ installed for free (normally £75) and the XL discount for life.
I did try and get the £10 p/m for the the V+ written off for a while - but they weren't having any of it.
My V+ gets installed next Wednesday so we are very happy:TWhilst my posts do not constitute financial advice, I am always, without fail, 100% right!

I too am a Sky1 programme loser.

I rang Virgin media today and after a lengthy wait I managed to save £21 per month of my bill
I had
TV: L & Phone - 22.50
XL upgrade - 9
4MB Bradband - 25.00
Total payment 56.50
Now I have
TV: L & Phone
XL upgrade
4MB Bradband
Plus free weekend and evening calls upgrade
Total Payment 35.00 Saving 21.00 per month as well as any calls I made/make at evenings and weekends.
I will also benefit from a free 10MB upgrade to broadband in May
Still upset over losing Sky1 as all the programmes I watch bar 2 are on there. Still there are other ways to see them if I am patient and can wait

Please someone help me get something from them too!!
Rang this morning to complain that I had lost fave channel but given nothing in return so felt a bit hard done by! Had read on here ppl gettin upgraded to xl tv etc so thought would get offered the same. No such luck tho! Thought they must be cracking down on all the many customers complaining til I came back on here and saw that everybody else apart from me has been compensated!
Currently have TV L, BB M and phone and I pay £35 for 3. Was hoping to get upgraded to XL TV for 6 months like everyone else but the man I spoke to was very rude indeed. He basically said as Sky 1 was not one of the networks own channels then it was subject to change as set out in my contract! Hinted that I would maybe cancel and go to sky to which he replied you would get charged alot more with them but if you want to here is the number to call!!! Thought they were meant to be trying to hold onto thier customers??? Its not as if I was asking for anythin extraordinary!!
So what do you guys think the best way around this is? Was thinking of ringing back saying some friends had been upgraded so why couldnt I be? I mean, why do it for some and not for others??
Any advice???
Cheers x0 -

Do you know if you spoke to the disconnections / retentions department? This is the department with the most power / scope to help.
It could be that you have just been unlucky and got an idiot on the phone. I think all the call centre advisers are getting a hard time on the phones at the moment!
I was always nice with them on the phone. I just stated my points and they seemed to sympathise. I went down the line of "my wife is going crazy that she has lost sky 1."
I don't think shouting or getting angry helps. (not that I'm suggesting this is what you done!)
If I were you I would phone back and make sure you speak to retentions by selecting the option 'thinking about leaving'. Explain that you are dissapointed in losing Sky and want to know the process for cancelling. They should then start offering you freebies - then you can take it from there.Whilst my posts do not constitute financial advice, I am always, without fail, 100% right!
