ok, now i was on £30 a month for the phone, broadband and basic TV package, but for £26 he has upgraded the TV package for more channels saving me £4, but as he was so nice I took him up on the £10pm VPlus box and £5.00 for the box to be in the back bedroom, so for an extra £9pm i have a Vplus box, second box and more channels for as long as i want.
bargain!
thank alot! you quote was great help :T at first i seemed to be the only one on the £30 pakage unfortunaly i was not as good in bargaining and only got an upgrade at the same price for as long as I want still got more channels though. not sure if i should ring back to get the £4 discount. but then what could I say?0 -
Phoned up this morning, discussed the loss of Sky 1
Then Virgin offered me a few bundle offers - we agreed on:-
4 meg Broadband
XL TV Package
Evening & Weekend telephone calls (working Mon-Fri no need for unlimited + I have 750 mins on my moby per month)
Caller Rejection
£35.00 pm - for as long as we are customers
Not bad - Cheers Martin0 -
i've got to say that the cs is crap, the installation man and engineers have been great and they have also commented on the cs towards them.
its making their job harder as they are being sent to numerous jobs that can be dealt with from the call center. i am sick of having to call to resolve problems and still they aren't put right, and when i have asked for compensation they cant do it... funny how many people are on lower priced packages and they are getting alsorts, i am paying about £95 to them each month (for the last 5 years) and getting nothing back.0 -
Posted reply other day re. offered £10 disc on bill, but after this had a change of heart and decided to try again. Probably best that i did as original £10 pm discount was not recorded anywhere!!
Again passed from pillar to post, cut off etc.... finally Glenn from retentions rang back (explained that I was going over to sky but had been advised to try retention dept first).
Was originally paying £47.50 for L tv, broadband, basic phone, now paying
£50 pm for XL tv, all sky sports and all sky movies, 4mg broadband and phone with free evening calls (use company mobile anyway!) on existing contract.
So paying £2.50 more per month, but hubby and children very pleased.....!!:rotfl: Thanks Martin xxx0 -
I'm happy, just got talk unlimited for free for ever (worth £14.99) + half price broadband for 6 months so have now gone for the V+ at £10 per m so can get rid of video player. Could have gone for the free box upstairs but decided against it cos only just bought daughter Freeview.Stop looking for answers....
The most you can hope for are clues.....:)0 -
After reading this thread I called Virgin Media last week. I spoke to a stroppy operator who had clearly had enough for the day. She was aggressive and rude and lost her temper with me. I was being polite and calm throughout I hasten to add. Eventually I thought, enough is enough, and asked to be put through to disconnections. She did this but I was immediately disconnected due to the 'exeptionally high call volume'.
I decided to try again today and was put through to a very nice lady called Sonia who switched me to the 3 for £30 package, which increases the number of TV channels I have access to, and reduced the price to £24. For ever! She was very nice and said that she fully expected that the Sky channels would be reinstated soon. I didn't even have to haggle. It was like pushing at an open door this time.

I am so glad I read this forum today I just phoned up and this is what I had prior
telephone line £11
basic tv package £5.5
2meg broadband £13.5 (previsiously got this reduced from £18 because of 3 for £30 offer)
The deal I was offered today was the whole package now for £20 for life that will do nicely for now because after reading so many of these messages I can see its all about bargaining power I will be phoning up in 6 months time to do more bargaining.0 -
Just phoned Virgin - glad I did. Took 20 minutes to reply on the 0800 number (got cut off on 150)
Was on:
Telephone unlimited £25
Television L £11.50
1MB broadband £18
Total: £54.50
The very helpful guy offered to put in what I now had into a new package offer and came up with an upgrade to 2MB broadband and the whole package for £28.45, saving £26.05 a month. And that is just for life, not a 6 month trial. Well worth a call.
Thanks Martin0 -
