    That's fair enough :)

    When you connect to a network for the first time, it will go into the Manage Wireless Networks list. Delete it from there it should not return unless you connect to the same network again.

    A daft question maybe, but are you possibly confusing Available Networks and Saved Networks? Doe it definitely say you are CONNECTED to BTFON?
    hi, I have just been in manage wireless networks 4 times, and removed btfon and btopenzone, but they just return before I get out of it.
    It also moves them to top of the list, even though I have moved them down, and completely removed them.
    when I click, remove, it says, I will not be able to connect auto, but it just connects auto again.
    It is showing;;;joepc>mutiple networks>internet, even after removing all bt,s.
    as I type, I am connected via ethernet and btopenzone wifi, although I ve removed all bt from wireless networks, and put aol to top of list
    edit;;if I go to connect to, even though bt,s there, I click on connect to aolbb, I get PC>AOLBB>INTERNET, as it should be;??

    hi, they are only there when wifi is on. just rebooted, straight to bt again. seems to prefer it to aol.
    when I untick box on btfon or btopenzone , the box for prefered option greys out, so cannot leave it ticked.

    hi Figment, sorry for delay.
    When I go wifi enabled, even with ethernet cable connected, wifi always CONNECTS to either BTFON or BTOPENZONE H,NOT alobb, my router ISP.
    When I right click on either of BT,s I get a choice of 4 options. I choose properties.
    THen, there are 4 boxes, which I have unticked all 4;
    1, Connect auto to this network always.
    2.Connect to a more prefered network. Will not let me tick this without ticking first???
    3Connect even if not broadcasting.
    4Enable Intel connection settings.
    This applies to both BT,s, cannot tick 2 without 1? unticking 1 greys out 2 unticked
    Number 2 is what is required.more prefered network aolbb;
    When I change connection to AOLBB, I have 1+3 ticked, and remove both BT<s from list, but they just come back immediately, and pc connects to them when I re-enable wifi, or re-boot.
    Auto went to BT just now, first boot of the day, turned wifi of, says connected to unidentified network, then ethernet kicked in and aolbb connected,
    Just disconnected wifi.
    Cannot remove BT from network, no matter what I do, and for some reason, wifi always connects to it first, so always have to change connection to aolbb.
    Cannot explain any more.
    Router is set up correctly, even what esspresso says, I followed his instructionns to do it+ aol/TT,s which were the same.
    My son could do with my setup, he,s only on 20Gb, I am unlimited, no need to piggyback, + unless I check when banking, etc, I,m not on secure network;;;hence long ethernet cables.

    The secure network is setup on the router. We would need to know the make and model to tell you how to get in.

    Do NOT delete the BT. Simply uncheck the boxes.

    Take a look in Manage Network Connections. Are the BT's on there?

    hi john yes they are on there.,ive been in router, it is set up secure. and aolbb is on auto. both bt,s are on manual in manage network.
    I have been in the router umpteen times, so I,m 99.9% It,s configured correctly.
    I,ve got ip address and password wich is admin+admin
    192.168.1.1
    HUAWEIecholife hg521
    I have unticked all the boxes on both BT,s and they are now both manual,
    edit. just turned wifi back on, and gone straight to btopenzone wifi, even though I am already connected via ethernet, and auto on wifi, but bt is manual.

    ** Change the password!

    I'm beginning to think that you are not using Windows WLAN but have third party software installed.

    Did you use any disks to setup the router on your PC?

    Is there anything in your Programs list that may do this?

    hi john, I ,m not sure where you are coming from. my router is secure, It says so in network set up. Also, when kids come, I have to give them my password so they can piggyback onto my network with thier tackle.that,s not my problem, the problem is my pc auto connecting to bt,s network, not my router security.
    when I turn wifi off, big letters come on screen Wireless LAN disconnected,and vice versa, Wireless LAN enabled.
    are we at cross purposes?

    No, we're not. I'm just not explaining myself properly.

    The password is the one to get into the router. You need to add a password to that to prevent anyone changing the settings. That's not the same as the password to use the wireless aspect of the router.

    Taking a look on MS and found this;
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc771826(v=ws.10).aspx

    Try rebooting into Safe mode as Administrator and delete from there.
