Can someone please point me at the rates per minute for the 18185 freephone gateway.Retired and Happy.0

Eleven alterations were made to the program in the 26 October 2008 update. The reasons for doing so were:
(3), (4) & (5). ½p/minute calls to 0845 numbers weekdays, evenings & weekends;

Don't think you don't get the 1/2 p/min rate with the freephone number, just with 18185.

Let's clear this up once and for all. 18185's website states they charge 4p connection and 3p/minute weekdays and 4p connection and 1p/minute weekends for 0845 calls for subscribers calling via the 0808 and 020 gateway access numbers (i.e. not via the prefix).
As they always say "the tariff announcement is always right", I rely on that, not the website.
So, my physical tests have shown that they charge 5p connection and ½p/minute weekdays and 5p connection and ½p/minute weekends for 0845 calls for subscribers calling via the 0808 and 020 gateway access numbers (i.e. not via the prefix).
It's obviously an error but, as Martin would describe that as 'a loophole', that's why I changed the Heinz Orchid program which a number of readers use.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Thanks Heinz, having knocked that one on the head we can put it to rest.

I'm suffering with wrong numbers when using my Orchid Dialler which is set to use the latest Heinz update.
I've just tried to ring 01359272551. Every time I dial I get BT Residential Faults instead of Kalirel, the company I'm trying to ring. Used the prefix to bypass the Orchid and got the number the first time.
I also get a lot of messages telling me that the number is not in use (when I dial 0845 number) and seconds later pressing redial gets me through. One evening when I rang my mum using a stored number I got somebody else each time. Luckily I knew that BT was on free calls so I was able to bypass and it worked first time.
I'm using a DECT phone from Phillips and get wrong numbers or error messages most days.
Is is just me??0 -
I'd recommend, in the first instance, you force it home to pick up the program and time/date again.
EDIT 22-11-08.
As no further response was added, it appears that was the problem.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. I've just tried to use the CWClient to update my settings to the recommended values on the other thread but cannot seem to connect at all. It always states that the pogram is working in offline mode. Anybody else having problems. The settings are correct in cwclient.ini etc. Fully allowed through the firewall. Not sure what is happening.0

I also can't connect! As far as I can tell, my settings are OK and I've even tried disabling the firewall.
I emailed Orchid yesterday, but no reply so far...0
