The Orchid server at Corby is now back online.
    Thanks Heinz!:T
  • The BT line is now sorted, and CW Client is back online again. The IP address of CW Client is still the same, but the dialler 'Force home' number is now 01536 207810.
    To reprogramme your dialler simply:
    Lift Handset and Dial * * # 0000 * 01536 207810 * 1 then hang up.

You can now 'Force Home' as normal.

Apologies for the interuption to service, but please let us know if you need anything else.
    Best Regards,

My dialler is not powered by a PSU.

Will this change "stick" after a power cut?

Yes, but, as always, you'd have to reset the dialler's internal clock if you disconnected the telephone line (by which it's powered).
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

Ive just updated the dial home number, then logged on to cwclient to check the settings on there,

The 'Dialling Rules' listed are old ones i used about 2 months ago, they are not the rules i made when i got the new 'heinz' program.

Has anyone else reported this ?

Just tried to “force home” but without success. Never had a problem under the old number.

I use a 11-V4 Dialler which is now two/three year old.

Take this to be the new number.

    * * # 0000 * 01536207810 * 1

    (a) Does this number cover all diallers (b) is the problem at my end (c) or are there still some gremlins to be sorted?

    Many thanks.

    No, the 8th character should be a # not a *

    Dial * * # 0000 # 01536207810 * 1

The above method works for V4, V4+ and Ranger 400 diallers.

Are you sure Heinz? Ive just looked at the orchid website it reads:
    Recent Outage Update

The BT line issue has now been resolved, the call platform and CW Client is back online again. The IP address of CW Client is still the same, but the dialler 'Force home' number is now 01536 207810.

Looks like everyone is also trying, as I keep getting engaged tone when I try the new number. I wonder how many lines this is? Anyone know if it is multilines, or just a single number?

Anyone know if I do a force home and it gets an engaged, will it automatically retry?

Oops, you're right, Sorry about that (I'll delete my earlier post so as not to cause any more confusion).[STRIKE]

However, although I and others have forced home to the new number, it's now engaged all the time,. There must be a problem with it. [/STRIKE]

There was a power outage yesterday evening - which caused the engaged tone problem. That was resolved last night and CW Client and force home are now fully operational again.

Thanks folks. I have wasted most of my evening trying to get my dialler to force home, but thanks to this thread have finally managed to sort it out!
