I need a router like my own, DG834G, or is there a better one? I need two 5m and two 10m ethernet cables and hey presto we are sucking diesel.

    Am I correct?

If you get a dg834G, then you may as well go wireless (for the remote PC), and ditch the cables.

If you don't want to go wireless, get a DG834
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?

How do I stop the computer losing network though?

If I got a DG834G and 4 Gigabit Ethernet (CAT 6) Cable Blue with slim connector 10m cables would that be everything I need?

Depends what is happening, and what you do to correct it??

Is it encrypted, have you tried a firmware update, or changing channels, do you have other wireless equipment in the area (neighbours, video senders, dect phones) is your PC set to automatic connect to your router when in range, and not to connect to non-infrastructure networks? Do you have thick walls, or lots of them between laptop and router?

No, it's not encrypted yet. Haven't tried a firmware update and don't know how. Don't know if PC is set to automatic or not, again how do I find out? One average wall between router and laptop.

Other questions appeared after I had quoted you. To correct it I go to connections, then right click wireless connection right click properties, left click wireless networks and tick use windows to configure my wireless network settings, then ok it, right click wireless connection and left click repair, then cancel, then start at the beginning again except I untick box.

All the answers are in the two links I provided earlier.
