Presumably it still works wired.
To undo the changes, just untick the encryption setting on the router and click apply. A router reset will lose all your isp id/password settings.
PS. There is a backup settings option in the router config, which saves all the settings to a file, for easy undo'sEver get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -

It doesn't work wired. I cannot access the router. I am currently using an external broadband modem.0 -
plug the router in with an ethernet cable,
and start, run
cmd
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew

nothing in post 65 would have stopped it working wired.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -

Tried what you suggested and the message I got this time was "No operation can be performed on Wireless Network Connection while it has its media disconnected".0 -
Chippy_Minton wrote:How far did you get in post 65? Do it from a wired connection. Start with a simple password that you can remember (and type in easily) on the router and laptop. Then change to a 63 character random one as advised.
Did type in simple password that I can remember. The message I got for that was "The network "NETGEAR" requires a network key (also called a WEP key or WPA key). A network key helps prevent unknown intruders from connecting to this network.
Type the key, and then click Connect."0 -

Try repairing the Local Area Connection (that's the wired connection). Similar to release/renew but does a bit more.0 -
