Mighty Deals have my money :-(

  • Mightydeals is not what it seems. I ordered a few items from the website and vouchers were issued for each of the items. Now the way it works is if it is a Mightydeals offer, the seller is contacted and paid. Payment to seller is not as simple as it seems. A list is initially dispatched without any money. The seller and Mightydeals negotiate to reach an acceptable sale, if this not achieved, Mightydeals keep advertising the item in order to create a larger sale in order to bring the sale for the seller into reality. I have had 2 items which I order last month and contacting the seller, he keeps indicating no payment received so can not dispatch the item. I hav written a number of messages to Mightydeals whose only contact is by email, which is strange, but understanding how they operate is quite visible. No calls, no public contact, no direct answers to queries.

There are some items which are sold on better offers and notably I bought an item based on the picture shown. The deal was too good to miss and it was my main reason for procuring from these people. When I called the seller, he told me that it was the old outdated units he was selling and not the new ones in the market and he had loads of them in stock. Actually, O2 were selling them for £70 less from the £159 by Mightydeals indicated with Mightydeals indicating that they were £429. The manufacturers actually stated that the price was wrong and it was only the newer version which is £429.

Mightydeals is a scam and you have to watch out. I am still waiting for a response to my 5 messages. I do intend to go there offices in Surrey which I believe doesnt exist. I have asked for a refund in my last 2 messages but this I dont think I will get any response. Now the fact that they say they have 3 million customers and over 60.000 transactions a month is a very good guess knowing that the public will not spend time in verifying those "facts", is a good reason for stating that response will take 2 working days. The fact there is the way their business is conducted, which is hidden behind all sorts of irregularities, doesnt give the public a chance to decide.

Watch out, Mightydeals is not what they seem they are. I am escalating my issues with the regulatory body and to a legal body to expedite my funds.

Upon searching the forum for "Mighty Deals" it appears there are 8 threads complaining about the company on 3 separate boards on just the first page of the search result. I'm sticking to this thread as Mighty Deals still has my money - nearly £80! - but have asked that all the threads be merged and that MSE Martin takes some action here.

Mighty Deals cannot and should not be allowed to take our money, without supplying the goods. As far as I can see, it's the consumer and quite possibly the supplier that suffers - Mighty Deals sweeps up your money and seems to be able to get away with impunity. It defies belief that this kind of exploitation can happen in this day and age, yet it does, and there are a whole host of us that bitterly pay regret ever having had any involvement with Mighty Deals.

Others need to be warned, and fast. I can think of no better vehicle than MSE.

My Argos code did not work, I emailed mighty deals, and haven't yet to receive their reply, it's now been 3 weeks and I think they just gonna take my money and ignore me. Do they have any telephone number? Terrible CS system I must say.

  • i have posted 11 queries between april & july all asking about delivery of a nikon camera that was supposed to be for taking the wedding pictures for my friend TOMORROW!!!

all of these queries have been closed down with no resolution, i cannot find out where the camera is, who the merchant is, where a refund is or why the queries keep being closed?

if any help is out there it would be much appreciated :-(
  • OMG the day after the wedding it was bought for, the replacement Nikon camera turns up & you can guess ITS IN JAPANESE AGAIN!!!!!!!!!

really dont know what to do now - its taken 4 months & countless request (without any answers) for this 'wrong again £381' replacement camera to arrive?
  • Hi
I ordered a apple 64Gb iPad air (£359) from Mighty deals on the 9 June . At first i received a email explaining that the shipment will be sent late and then received an email to say that the iPad had been sent. I replied and asked for a tracking number, within minutes they replied to me with a royal mail tracking number (very good customer service). 27 June i received an 16Gb iPad air, which was not what i ordered. I contacted the company that supplied the iPad immediately and they explained that Mighty deals had supplied the iPads directly. After countless unanswered emails i am unsure what to do. I would like a replacement but at this rate i think i will be lucky to receive a refund. Does any one have a contact number for Mighty deals? I paid with my HSBC Debit card. Any help would be much appreciated.
  • I ordered and paid for a 16gb iPad Air 10/7/14, which was on max 10 days delivery. After 10 days I received an email telling me that it would be delayed by seven days and that as an apology I would receive a brand new model as opposed to the refurb that I ordered.

This was supposed to be delivered in the next seven days.

On the seventh day I received another email stating that it would be further delayed by seven days, and I would be supplied with tracking codes within that period.

That day has now come and gone. I have no iPad Air, no tracking codes, and no refund. I have emailed Mighty deals four times now and have received absolutely no response.

Now I don't know how to proceed, other than chase a refund as I paid on my credit card.

Has anyone else got any ideas?
  • Sorry, further to my above post, I have also contacted the supplying merchant directly, who informed me that they were NOT the supplier, but Mighty Deals were supplying this direct.

They gave me the contact email address of a certain Neil Campbell from Money Expert who would apparently sort this out for me.

    Unfortunately, as above, absolutely nothing!
