A lot of people regret asking for help and advice on this forum because of the negative and judgemental responses they receive.
When did being judgemental become the worst crime a person can commit?
I judge a lot of actions to be wrong, we all do, not everything is 'ok if it works for you' as seems to be the mantra on this particular bit of the site!0 -
 As far as I'm concerned, at no cost. I never worked when my children were young, my choice, I've never felt like I've sacrificed my life "at the alter of children" for one minute, I've had a very happy and fulfilling life thank you very much. I have my dreams and aspirations, just because I chose to stay home with my kids it doesn't mean I've settled for some sort of substandard life.
And my now grown up kids are emotionally balanced and independent, I haven't clipped their wings or stunted their emotional growth by being home throughout their childhood.
That's fine for you if you don't perceive a cost, however I have met women who have sacrificed their lives for their children, and when the children leave their nest they have become lost almost without identity after so many years being mummy and consequently find it very hard to work out who they are.0 -

This i agree with, however if something is not 'right for you' and your family chances are its not ok either, even if it is what is right for the majority.0 -

I am entitled to my opinion just as much as you. What i want to write is my business don't you think? Do I have to answer your comment just because you don't like something I have written?0 -

I think the way in which you present it sometimes does diminish the points you make, even when i agree with your arguments. I also feel there are many roads to Rome. I don't think there is one right way to educate, parent or live.
I probably am being a bit terse, but some days I have a lot less patience than others.0 -

But you see i would consider that your point just a few posts back relevent in that: not every thing is ok if it is right for you. Just because you feel the need to be terse does not make it ok or appropriate!
I hope your terseness or lack of patience days mean you are having bad days, if it does i hope this one gets better for you.0 -
For any one prompted to have an interest in the history of education google throws up a fair bit i have just discovered.
At first glance this looks interesting, to me anyway!
