I used a Texaco and mine engine seems fine now. But until the exact route of the cause if found it is going to be pot luck really!0

Saving receipts is all very good and dandy... but how do you save receipts when you bougt the fuel more than a week ago and don't have a receipt? Still have the ECU that had to be replaced (although as I carried on driving on the same fuel the problem might not be over yet) but the car is nearly out of fuel so I have to top up or I won't make it to work...
I can get a mechanics report easily thankfully, and I can prove I have bought stuff at Tesco (statement) but it doesn't define that the purchases are at Tesco Fuel...

I filled up last friday at Tesco's Raynes Park, Surrey, yesterday i noticed that the Exaust emissions light has shown up on my dash. I filled up at a BP garage, but im sure its gonna have to go in to the garage. I dont think that i can now claim as the petrol that would have been in the tank would have been watered down,
what should i do argggggggggh0 -
Rather ironically, after a couple of years of my car not running too well and not being able to find out why, I filled up at Tesco on Saturday and my car is running better than it ever did!0

Your statement may contain a code number for the store where you made payment to Tesco and this should be different for the petrol station and the actual store.0 -

Also, if you used a clubcard then Tesco will have a record of your purchase.0 -
Although my car is running fine I've also had the warning 'check' light appear on my dash, the manual says there is a problem with the emmisions.
Kia told me they've had a lot of related calls and "had I filled up at Tescos or Asdas?"
They also said, if the mechanic turns the switch off, then on again, all seems to be fine....?!

Indeed, Kia told me they switch the sensor off, then on again, and all is well......?!

Serves you all right for buying supermarket fuel.
Only joking, I think.
In an interview on BBC this morning a spokeman said that the cause of the problem is not known. He went on to say that if anybody has a similar problem with a diesel car, it's a different root cause (or words to that effect).
If the problem is not known, how come he knows it cannot affect diesels? For example, if Tesco have cleaned their tanks with a dodgy cleaning agent, it may well affect diesels. Maybe not to the same extent but who knows?
It'll be interesting to see how many motorists suddenly have a lightbulb moment and stop buying supermarket petrol.
The advice was that if you feel you have dodgy petrol, drain the tank. It'd be interesting to see people taking the petrol back to forecourt for a refund! What does he think people would do with all this dodgy petrol?
I'd suggest keep your tank topped up with quality fuel - perhaps refilling every 30 miles but I'm not a fuelologist.
