Normal BP fuel will be just as good and cheaper. Ultimate is a con unless you have a high performance engine0

Sounds like too much Silicone (anti-foaming agent) may be the cause.
My guess is that this will have been added to a tank of fuel at the refinery and maybe added again as a matter of routine by the supermarket tanker drivers. Maybe the refinery's paperwork was not in order.
I hope the garages are cleaning the O2 sensors before condemning them.

Where'd you hear that?
If that's the case, the problem should subside soon and if that has been found in the refinery then Greenergy and ultimately, the supermarkets themselves are responsible despite what their press releases say......0 -

BBC 6 o' clock news.
I agree that, despite their denials, the service provider is the drivers' port of call for compensation etc.

Yeah, I see there's a story on the BBC News website about silicon contamination now. Time will tell...
If you look at the list of clients on the Greenergy website, they supply products to nearly every fuel related company in the UK (even BP, Shell, Esso) ....... don't know which products though0 -
The only reason I didn`t fill up at tesco last weekend is that I have been taking part in a tesco boycott and buying locally. Phew, I breathe a sigh of relief0

From my paper today "faulty fuel link traced to depot in Essex". fords and vws seem to be immune. symptoms-misfiring or juddering engines, loss of power, engine management warning light coming on,or car stalling. An industry source said silicon-not used in the fuel industry- has been found in the suspect unleaded petrol.
Bear in mind ,proof of purchase can also be a credit card statement.0 -

Luckily my Kia Picanto was also immumne! Although the warning light (re problem with emissions) came on it has gone off after approx 130 miles, PHEW! One up for Picantos!
